Tom Hardy to Have a Cameo in Star Wars: Episode VIII?
20 days ago a post on Reddit mentioned that Tom Hardy will play a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: Episode VIII, in a similar fashion as Daniel Craig did in The Force Awakens. In the last few days the pretty ridiculous rumor that Tom Hardy will play Boba Fett in Episode VIII started making the rounds on the web. We checked this info and as we told you yesterday, we’re absolutely certain that the Boba Fett rumor is 100% false. Now the guys from MakingStarWars has more details on the first rumor that sound very plausible.

- Tom Hardy plays a First Order Stormtrooper.
- Said Stormtrooper glimpses FN-2187 on a secret mission but doesn’t realize it.
- The “incognito” FN-2187 is surprised when the Stormtrooper walks up behind him and slaps him on the ass.
- FN-2187 turns around and believes he’s dead. He’s surely going to be captured.
- The Stormtrooper is elated to see his old friend from back during their First Order academy days.
- The Stormtrooper congratulates FN-2187 on his promotion to Resistance infiltrator and spy.
- FN-2187 is free to go about his business to his amazement.
This sounds like a really funny scene, that makes perfect sense. Hardy is great actor and if this is true, we look forward to see him in the galaxy far, far away, even if he doesn’t take his helmet off.

In a Oprah voice ” You get a role of Stormtrooper, and you get a role of stormtrooper” How many celebrities get to be in this movie as a cameo. It’s cool as long as it doesn’t take me out of the movie.
Apparently, the Daniel Craig cameo was an accident, and it was hard to recognize his voice anyways. I’m just hoping they don’t make it a thing.
I don’t think JJ turned anyone down who asked for a roll. It’s okay I guess long as we don’t see their faces.

I want this! But Tom Hardy’s an actor I would like in a bigger role… maybe in the fourth trilogy?
If he is on costume I don’t see a problem but I hope they keep enough good interpreters for any new big roles… Cameos are fun but these roles are better for those who still need a chance or are surely to never appear in Star Wars playing a main role. Not making a big deal of this… Just don’t abuse of cameos.

Really? The ass slap is such an Earth-in-the-noughties thing that it feels fundamentally not in keeping with the regimented attitude of the troops of the Empire.
so are a lot of things in SW since 1977.
Pretty sure there was lots of male on male ass slapping going on in Studio 54 during the 70’s.
Tom Hardy as Boba Fett is under the category: “Too good to be true.” That WOULD be awesome though, wouldn’t it? Though Boba Fett’s been kinda’ overdone anyways, it would be pretty awesome to just give Tom his own character in SW.
It is a nice convention they’re establishing — each SW movie has super-recognizable actors dressed in full body suits, hiding in plain sight. I wonder who’ll make a visit for Ep. IX?

Well, He’d be more welcome than Craig who always comes across as a prick in everything he does. Plus he’s a much better actor.
