And the Winners Are…..SWNN Giveaway: Two Star Wars Sphero BB-8 Droids from Wellbots!

BB-8_0001This week we have an awesome giveaway for our readers. Thanks to our friends at Wellbots, we have – not one – but two Sphero BB-8s anxiously awaiting for their new owner. The contest is really simple and without any country restrictions. Read on for the full details…

The New York based company Wellbots, who were generous enough to supply two Sphero BB-8 units for our contest, is the #1 online store for smart products – including drones, cleaning robots, connected toys, personal mobility boards, smart audio/video devices, and more. Wellbots was recently selected to join the Google Trusted Stores program, so that you can safely shop with confidence on their site.

Wellbots carefully selects their products, based solely on a product’s efficiency and effectiveness.  As a result, the items they sell are some of the best on the market. The company has developed strong partnerships with leading brands like Dolphin, Ecovacs, Fujifilm, GoPro, Jawbone, Kodak, Polaroid, Sony, and many others. One of their partners is Sphero, the company behind the famous BB-8 App Enabled Droid.

Wellbots

Now, Wellbots is giving two of our readers a chance to win the adorable little droid toy. All you have to do is to fill out the form below (if you’re on a mobile device you will see a link to the form named “A Rafflecopter Giveaway”), and answer the question from it in our comments system.

Important: The e-mail you use to sign in the form below is the e-mail that we will contact if you win the prize. So make sure to use a valid and active e-mail. As mentioned previously, this is an international contest and there are no restrictions based on your location. The Twitter option is not mandatory, but it can be done daily and could increase your chances of winning.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

If for some reason you’re still not familiar with Sphero’s BB-8, here are a few details:

The Sphero BB-8 App-enabled Droid is a Star Wars inspired droid that is capable of responding to your voice and commands.  The droid is equipped with adaptive technology that allows its reactions and noises to change based on the interactions it has with you. The direction the droid travels is controlled using an Android or iOS smart device. Experience the fun of having your own operational Star Wars inspired droid!

bb8_charger_connect_1_drivescreen_legal_final_1200_801

The BB-8 by Sphero stands approximately 5″ tall and can roll up to a max speed of 4.5 mph. This is equivalent to 7ft/s. Like the featured droids in the Star Wars films, the BB-8 will also create holographic videos. It will relay them to you using a bluetooth signal. The videos can be viewed using the BB-8 Sphero app on your smart device. Efforts were also made by Sphero to make the BB-8 as personable as the Star Wars droids in the films. This inspired the ability of the droid to respond to your voice with its own noises and the ability of the BB-8 to develop its own ‘mannerisms’ after an extended amount of time interacting with you.

Also recently Sphero’s BB-8 got an awesome upgrade. Now the toy can react while you’re watching The Force Awakens Blu-ray on your home theater!

BB-8 BB-8 02

You can get more information and specifications on the Sphero BB-8 HERE.

Good luck to everyone, and again thanks to Wellbots  for the amazing prizes.

UPDATE!

The two lucky winner randomly picked by Rafflecopter are:

Chris W.

Leonardo R.

We will contact you via the email you used to sign in the form. Also we will expect the winners to show us their comment on the question we asked. Otherwise they will be disqualified and a new winner will be picked. Congratulations.

Thanks again to Wellbots for the fantastic prizes. If you didn’t win, don’t lose hope. You can join our new contest HERE. Also in the next few weeks we will have 3 more contests!!! Stay tuned. 🙂

R2 has been my favorite for as long as I can remember, but I have to be honest and say that BB-8 has been working his way up there since that moment he rolled onto the stage at Celebration, so who knows, after this trilogy he might dethrone R2… but not yet. R2 still rules supreme! 🙂

He’s got a lot of competition from BB-8, but R2-D2 is my favourite droid from the GFFA. He’s so resourceful and heroic, and I love the idea that he is sort of treated like a family heirloom passed down through generations, saving the Galaxy countless times. So definitely R2!

R2-D2 has got to be my favorite droid ever. He’s absolutely brilliant. You can argue that without R2, many of the characters we know and love may not be around to tell their tales. Plus, R2 is one of the few who’s been around since the very begining and knows the truth of all that has happened in the universe

Artoo. Why? I grew up watching him, but mainly, if you’re in need of a loyal, get-the-job-done being Artoo is the standard! (BB-8 is my close second, and could be my #1 by the time this trilogy is over).

My 4 year old son is mad about the mouse droids. However, personally I’ve aways loved the Gonk, simply because someone is walking around with a box upon themselves. Its quite iconic as a droid with its ‘gonk’ noise as well. Simply brilliant and traditional Star Wars.

R2 KT is one not many know about and was created based off the R2D2 design, but was used outside the movies for a little girl, dying from a disease. Everyone got together to create this droid and have it produced as a means to raise $ and awareness. I have one at home.

Last few years brought us several cool droids: Chopper, BB-8, Triple-Zero… and they are all dear to my heart for different reasons. Still, R2-D2 remains my favorite. He is, in a way, a chronicler of GFFA, Skywalkers especially. He saved our heroes too many times to count, he has spunk, he is a perfect companion. I cannot wait to see R2 and Luke together again. <3

For me, 3B6-RA-7 is one of those big mysterious droids/characters from OT. Not for his appearance (which is cool and creepy at the same time, like a giant ant), but for his enigmatic/human/brilliant voice excelling from the other robots. Seeing that robot was like seeing an important droid being captured by jawas, wondering why he was there.

The story of R2-KT makes her my new favorite droid. Spotting that little pink R2 unit in TFA and other places makes me so happy because it’s a reminder that fans and filmmakers are all real people with real lives, and R2-KT blurs that line between fiction and reality in an important and meaningful way. Its so easy to jump straight to the obvious choices such as C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8 etc. But personally my favourite droid is the probe droid. The menacing spider like look of the droid, combined with the combat capabilities and its self destruct characteristic makes it one one the most feared driods in the Empire’s arsenal. And who doesn’t get shivers down thir spine when they hear that iconic probe droid relying information back to the Executor!

  • April 16, 2016 at 8:28 pm

Well, this is just a classic answer: it’s r2. Simple as that.

The why is pretty more hardcore.

First at all, we have a character that doesn’t have any line of dialogue, but yet managed to have a significant presence on all the films from the main saga. His face is a set of buttons and he communicates just by beeping and booping cutely. That’s something hard to see in other movies. And his body is completely orthopedic. He almost can’t move but he is actually an action figure!

You can say that he has a lot of gadgets that helps him, but that’s not the key of its charm. He’s a fan favorite because, despite all, he is brave and always manages to overcome its difficulties. He is the little hero of many big situations. Throw in an imaginative and iconic design and every time I see it I remember what I love about star wars.

I can’t wait to see his adventures with bb-8!

R2-D2. His personality from the moment he first appears in episode VI is something your inner child falls in love with, and as such he’s been a incredible character despite his inability to speak in anything other than beeps.
