3 Clips and Official Images from Star Wars Rebels: Shroud of Darkness!
The next Star Wars: Rebels episode will be epic. Kanan, Ezra and Ahsoka return to the Jedi Temple on Lothal, seeking answers from Yoda about the Inquisitors’ ability to continually track the rebels….
In this episode we will see the return of Yoda, voiced by Frank Oz, and Matt Lanter will return as Anakin Skywalker. Also it seems that we will have a brief glimpse at Darth Vader as well
Here’s the first clip from StarWars.com’s youtube page focusing on Ezra’s force vision with Yoda.
In the second clip we see Kanan, looking for help from a Temple Guard (thanks to Disney for the video):
Also here’s a brand new clip from EOnline showing the battle we’ve been waiting for: Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Seventh Sister vs. Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Kanan:
This episode airs on Wednesday @ 9pm EST (USA) and Saturday @ 9am (UK) on Disney XD.
And lastly here are few official images from this episode supplied by Disney.

Vader…Yoda…Temple Guards…Inquisitors…My body is ready… 🙂
The Anakin / Ahsoka payoff’s what I’ve been waiting to see. I’m curious: Does Ahsoka know of Yoda + Kenobi’s charges, Luke & Leia? (Or is that one pretty much between the lil’ green guy + Obi-wan?)
She could know through Bail. We know they’ve been working together and he knows as much as Yoda and Ben.
Interesting point – also wondering if the whole ‘she’ll lead us to other Jedi’ thread Palpatine dangled out there in the beginning of the season will bear fruit at some point. 1, 2, a dozen? How many Jedi could realistically still be lurking about, especially keeping in mind Yoda’s famous ‘…when gone am I, the last Jedi will you be…’ statement in ROTJ?
Yoda could be wrong. Remember as the PT has shown us he is incredibly wise and powerful, but not omnipotent as he couldn’t sense the plot Palpatine was creating. Although one could attribute that to the dark side, I feel if any other Jedi were in hiding he would need to be aware of where and what he was looking for to be able to pick up on any of them. I don’t think the force is like a Dragonball Radar that’ll just tell you exactly how many Jedi are in the galaxy at once. So theoretically there could have been other Jedi still lurking at the end of RotJ, old perhaps and not very powerful ones but Jedi nonetheless.
But that’s just playing devil’s advocate. I’m of the belief that Yoda was correct in his saying that Luke would be the last until he passed on his knowledge.
I’m sure Lucasfilm will retcon it with the whole “They’re not Jedi, they’re Light Force users!” BS.
I’m stoked.
Everybody is getting ready as hell!
Looks great but Yoda…what happened to Yoda? I know it is a different style of animation. I thought he looked bad in The Clone Wars, but he looks terrible in this. Love the series so far, just not sure about that decision.
His head shape and weird teeth are just WRONG, even for the art style. They full-on CHANGED his design. I can live with it though.
it looks like his head shrunk in the drier. i’m curious why they didn’t stick with the design from clone wars.
This week’s Rebels guest-artist: Napoleon Dynamite – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnIBB1lWRLE
Accurate.
Either him or some of the guys that used to do the art for old school Gary Gygax D&D modules like ‘Tomb of Horrors’…some of that stuff did NOT age well, alas… http://archive.wizards.com/dnd/images/ToH_Gallery/ToHGraphic12.jpg
FINALLY! THE EPISODE I HAVE LONGED FOR!! Something that will be cool and exciting and further the plot! I can, with confidence, say that we are out of the metaphorical woods of filler.
what i really hope is that we see the cross guard lightsaber, and we learn something about Old Republic Malachor V
Use an adblocker, problem solved!
I’m not on my computer….
Adblock browser is your best bet then if you’re on an android phone. Not sure if you can get it on IOS.
“for more info go to disney XD.” i think they’ve given us more then enough info already, lets just watch the episodes please. 😉
tbh i hated new Yoda design when I first saw it but now I really like it, at least based on the clip they released. they went hard on trying to emulate the original puppet, which makes it look weird but kinda cool at the same time.
I think it might be based of RM’s original design for the character but I’m not 100% certain.
i think its a safe assuption. after all the SW Rebels is based on unused Mc Quarrie sketch he made on a toilet paper circa 1975 while doing his thing
I’m so happy we’re getting to the big meat of this season. I’ve loved the episodes leading up to this, but this one is clearly a heavy hitter in terms of pushing the plot along. Also, I first saw the new Yoda design I didn’t think twice about it (because I kinda never thought he was much of a looker anyway) it’s been the mixed views on it that has made me think more about the way characters look now.
Finally no more space whales, no more filler. Getting down to what got us all excited for in that trailer. Great TV awaits us!
Not sure I care for the way they have animated Yoda, but otherwise looking forward to it.
That Yoda is the worst rendition of him I’ve ever seen in any SW media ever. Anakin is a little better but still off model.
Agreed.
At least Frank Oz is doing him, Tom Kane does a good impression but I’m pretty tired of hearing him after 5 years on TCW.
Even when you say something positive it still comes out as negative.
Shocker to find you here complaining.
Lol, to be honest, I couldn’t tell the difference.
Oz has a deeper and more resonant voice. Kane is more of an impressionist which is how he makes his living.
I admit, i was great to hear his voice again, but the model is pretty rough of Yoda.
I can only assume one of the interns was put in charge of the design.
looks like yoda on crack…
He’s looked better in fan films.
It is Grand Inqusitor! His gesture (how he is holding lightsaber, and hand behind his back) are the same. Even articulation of words, and manner he is speaking are the same. And look on his mask, especially on round things around his ears! And whole armor is the same, only light!
I’m thinking you’re on to something. Dave Filoni already said that we’ve seeen the Inquisitor in the Clone Wars.
Just wait.
Wow. This episode was absolutely brilliant. I won’t spoil it for anyone, but you will all love it, guaranteed. Big tings be a happenin’ hea!
Agreed. Fantastic episode.
That Yoda is just horrible. Even worst than Episode I puppet.
Yeah, I can’t believe that no one stopped and said: “Wait… This REALLY doesn’t look so good…”
Hey, a cadre of bootlickers & sycophants allowed ‘The Phantom Menace’ to be completed without speaking up to the isolated, billionaire emperor wearing no clothes! (Beat THAT for metaphor mangling!)
Frank Oz’s performance helps tremendously. The character model is a little weird, but Oz took me back in this episode like Kane (as great as he was in CW) never did.
I watched it early on the Disney XD app. I won’t spoil anything, but i will say this:
F A N T A S T I C
Finally, something positive you say 😉
I have a lot of positive things to say about this series, as long as it deserves it.
Agree 100% – I need to watch it again. That s**t was HYPE! So much in like 22 minutes. Blink and I guarantee you’ll miss A LOT. Whoa…
