Happy New Year! The Force Awakens Becomes the Second Highest Grossing Movie of all Time in the US. New Planet Name Revealed.
Happy New Year from SWNN! May you have a joyful year full of positive feelings and smiles. The past year has brought us the best possible gift we could have wished for – a brand new Star Wars movie. 2016 promises to be even more exciting with 2 new Star Wars movies in production plus the continuation of the Rebels TV show, and possibly some more surprises in store…
There is no doubt that 2016 will belong to Gareth Edwards and his “Star Wars Story” Rogue One. The movie hits theaters on December 16th and has been in production for some months now. Understandably Disney are keeping this movie under huge wraps, focusing everything on The Force Awakens. Also after the big leaks from TFA, I am hearing that Lucasfilm have drastically changed the way they deal with security on the set. We should expect much less leaks with Rogue One and Episode VIII. As you know Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII starts filming in late January, but don’t expect much info about it.
Once The Force Awakens ends it’s box office run, you can expect some movement in the Rogue One promo campaign.
Remember the rumors that The Force Awakens will have the Rogue One teaser attched to it? Well, I am hearing that this was absolutely what Disney had in mind. It was a done deal, the teaser was ready but they decided against it in the last moment aftet the info about it leaked. My personal understanding is that around April or May we can expect the trailer. I won’t be surprised if they do some cross promotion with the release of The Force Awakens Blu-ray around that time.
As you know this year’s Star Wars Celebration takes place in London (July 15-17), we can definitely expect some behind the scene footage for Rogue One (which I hear is already done) but I believe that the trailer would have been already released by then.
Now some brief update on The Force Awakens’ box office numbers. After the New Year’s Eve estimates The Force Awakens currently stands at $652 million in the Domestic box office (via Deadline). What’s interesting is that TFA made this only in 2 weeks. That’s the same number which Jurassic World did in its whole domestic run. Currently Jurassic World is on number 3 in the all time domestic box office with $652.3 million. Also the movie standing at number 2 is Titanic with $658.7 million. So after today we can assume that The Force Awakens will become the second highest grossing movie in the US behind just Avatar. Impressive record made in just 15 days!
The Force Awakens just needs to make another $100 million to become the highest grossing movie in the US. Beating Avatar’s domestic record is very realistic, while the worldwide record looks more elusive. Avatar has $2.78 billion at the Worldwide box office, and The Force Awakens currently has $1.3 billion, just surpassing Disney’s Frozen, their top grossing movie until now. Currently TFA is at number 8 at the Worldwide box office. This means that the movie has to double its current stats so that it would get within striking distance to Avatar. Keep in mind that TFA still hasn’t opened in the second biggest box office market in the world – China. The movie is expected to make at least $300 million there. This will be a nice fresh boost to the movie in just 8 days time (9 January, 2016).
And now some interesting new details on The Force Awakens coming from the actual script, which was released by Disney to the Writers Guild for awards consideration. The script was making the rounds on reddit, and I first thought that it’s fake but LFL’s Pablo Hidalgo himself revealed that it is legit. The script gave some new interesting plot points that were not addressed in the movie including the name of the planet that we see in the end of the movie.
So if you can see the WGA script, yes, the name of the planet from the end of the movie is there.

So according to the script, the name of the planet where Rey meets Luke is “Ahch-to”. The script also gives some further details on the flashback scene that Rey had in Maz Kanata’s castle as well as some new insights on the Rey and Kylo fight and Rey, and Luke meeting. “Ahch-to”
“Bless you”

More seriously, I have seen some attempts to connect the word Ahtch-to to the Hebrew word for “brother” (ach, with “ch” as in Scottish “loch”). _Acho_ could mean “his brother”. Perhaps more relevant is the word for “sister”, _achot_. In Hebrew, _achoto_ could mean “his sister”. Is this an oh-so-subtle hint about the family relationships we suspect but want to know more about? Is Rey “his sister”? Whose sister? Kylo Ren’s? Luke’s?!!! The latter seems out of the question for chronological reasons, unless we are to assume that Padme, the first time she got pregnant with Anakin, had the embryo removed and somehow put in stasis — to be matured under unknown circumstances much later. But that would seem like extreme revisionism!
project ren…snokes experiment to clone force sensitives leads to a new approach…combining the DNA of anakin with a new “mother” and creating a new skywalker. leading to rey being lukes sister
Nice! I like the part about Snoke cloning Kylo Ren! I’m kind of hoping that they come up with more original ideas. I loved TFA, but after that, I think we need less of the past and more of the future! Clones remind me of the prequels too much!
thats the thing…cloning force sensitives proved to be a disaster. thus they conbined the DNA with the head female scientist. for the first 5 years they raised her till kylo ren slaughtered the jedi. the female scientist bonded with rey and didnt want her to be a murderer. so she left her at jakku at the same planet of her grandfather…lor tekka
Maybe Darth Vader had a trist with some imperial flunkie before ROTJ and that bloodline created Rey… and maybe Captain Phasma as well! And maybe Finn, too! Maybe Darth Vader and Maz had a kid? Yoda and Maz? I’m sorry… what were we talking about? LOL!

Nothing will stand in our way. So glad this movie was praised by critics and embraced by audiences everywhere.
I miss this shot, which wasn’t in the movie.
It looks like it would have been set just before Rey and Finn face against Kylo. In the final cut of the movie, we don’t see Kylo ignite his saber; Rey and Finn stop running when they hear a saber ignite, and then the shot shows us Kylo facing them, holding his saber.
A lot of things in the trailers were not in the movie. Especially the dialogue. I didn’t have an issue with this, but it was kind of misleading. If people found it misleading, I can totally understand that. If the movie stunk and you were really waiting for those lines, I could see a lot more criticism.
Come to think of it: Did Kylo say “Nothing will stand in our way” in the final cut?
Are these the same sources who told you Luke had a great deal of action in the third act of TFA? I know scoops/leaks don’t always pan out, but someone was feeding BS.
I’ll never understand the excitement about a movie people like making tons of money. Enough that a sequel is in order sure.. but why care that it makes WAY more than that? It’s enough for me if I like a movie, it won’t make it any better, worse or do me any good if it makes $1 or a billion.
I think we all just like to see the thing we love loved by others as well, seeing it be such a huge success can only help to reinforce that we like good stuff! ;p
We cheer on what we love and want it do well, that’s why!
Yep, we’re fans!
Star Wars for us isn’t a movie we like, is Religion, at least for me
Being part of the “SW religion” doesn’t mean that any of us mere mortals gets a cent out of what the films make. The important thing, as DarExc said, is that box office success guarantees that the next film will be made.
I have more motives to follow the box office, because i find an abomination that the travesty of a movie that is Avatar is sitting at #1 so i would be happy for TFA to take the throne
Also after the Prequels the notion about Star Wars for the average movie goer was muddied so to see a success like this means the Prequels are all but forget
That still doesn’t have anything to do with “SW being like religion” to some people. More importantly, how TFA does at the box office will have nothing to do with the quality of the next SW films. That’s what will determine how much farther SW will go, the films’ quality.
As for the PT, I know many an average moviegoer who liked those films. Not to mention that the prequels were responsible for bringing in a whole new generation of fans who are contributing to TFA’s current financial success.
i don’t understand your point.
Somebody asked why we care about the box office of TFA, i gave you not one but two reasons, they’re mine reasons, if they’re not enough for you sorry
But those are the reasons why i do care about the box office TFA, i don’t know what you possibly want more
There’s i right answer i could give? please enlighten me
My point is simple: to me, the quality of the films comes first and foremost. If a film’s quality is low, this will reflect at the box office. Not immediately perhaps, but in the long run. And then Disney could decide to stop making SW films.
I wasn’t questioning your reasons for being interested in the box office. I was just curious as to why you’d relate considering SW as a “religion” with how it does at the box office. That’s all. See, to me these are 2 totally unrelated things, but w/e the case, I respect people’s opinion, whether I agree or disagree w/them.
I don’t respect other peoples opinions! Just kidding! i just think that the better the movie does, the more concerned Lucasfilm might be in putting out great Start Wars films. If they know the money is there, hopefully they will build it! It is in their best interest. Success is measured in many different ways. Good movies will always = success to me, but there is a financial side to it.
Financial success is all but guaranteed for almost any product that has the words “Star Wars” attached to it. Some of the EU novels and comics were good, but most were terrible, and they still made best-seller lists because they had the words “Star Wars” on the cover, precisely.
I can only hope that the films don’t go the EU’s route and that Lucasfilm does care about putting out quality films (I wouldn’t dare call TFA great in any sense of the word, but it was a good, fun film, IMO).
I like the potenetial ‘threat’ that if the next movie isn’t as good, it won’t make as much money. It gives Lucasfilm the incentive to put out a better film. That way, we all win!
Nah, I don’t think this will have anything to do with it. Rogue 1 could be better or worse than TFA, but either way I don’t think it’ll make as much money, because: 1) It won’t be the first SW film in 10 years, and 2) it’s not part of the main saga. But tbh, it’s the other spin-offs that I believe may “struggle” (I use the word lightly here) at the box office.
I don’t see too much enthusiasm for the Han Solo or the rumored Boba Fett films. And I understand it; I’d be lying if I said that I’m excited about either film. Personally, I’d prefer to see a different kind of “anthology” films.
What kind of Anthology film might you like to see?
Well, I think I’m not alone when I say that I’d love an Obi-Wan film, starring Ewan McGregor. Some kind of mission for the Rebellion and Bail Organa, between Eps. III and IV that would help cement the friendship between these 2 that began in RotS, for instance. That would be pretty cool, IMO.
Though personally, what I’d love to see more than anything else is an Origins set of films explaining the rise of the Jedi and then the Sith, thousands of years prior to the main saga. IDK if this would qualify as an anthology film or another trilogy in the main story line, but this would be awesome.
I’d love to see Ewan McGregor reprise the Obi-wan role!
Nice, Eduardo! I didn’t like Avatar either! I mean, it was OK, but not much more than that. It was NO Star Wars, that’s for sure!
Isn’t it about seeing something you love doing really well? Whether that’s a loved one, a sports team, a movie, or whatever.
It’s because we are fans and Fan = Fanatic!
Happy New Year to all !
Personally, I am not buying this so-called increased security on the set of Episode VIII. There was a fair amount of leaks from Episode VII, many times from Disney’s licensed merchandise itself, and I expect leaks from Episode VIII as well. If anything, the rationale for absolute secrecy seems weaker to me in the second installment of a new trilogy than in the first one.
But there are ptobablgna coupldmof twists in VIII as well. I’m buying the increased security; Lucasfilm will probably try harder to block spoilers.
Happy new year!! Yes the best part of 2015 was Star Wars and I really hope it gets #1. I don’t like the name of the planet Ach-to that’s kinda boring sounding for a Jedi master
There haven’t been very few names from this movie that people have liked upon first hearing. But other than say, Snoke, all the rest have grown us to the point they have become Star Wars. I’m sure this will too.
Yea I hated the name smoke but I got used to it now. I don’t think that’s his real name
Agreed, I hated most of the names at first, but 90% of them have grown on me now that I’ve seen them in context. Snoke still seems off…
It sounds like a sneezing Jedi master!
I’m not even sure how to pronounce that..
The AT-AT in that picture is far too small
Your head’s too big for your hair.
Sums up the childishness of some posters here.
Edgar, it’s OK, you don’t have to like it. Sorry that you didn’t like TFA. Happy New Year!
It is a movie of lower stock. Happy birthday, april fools
I might try to avoid trailers for ep viii. Hera give me strength
You will try…
you should probably ask luke if he has a room to rent on his island. 😉
I’m not sure why rumors/leaks of a Rogue One trailer before TFA came out would make Disney hold off on the trailer. There’s probably a better reason than that.
Maybe it was simply they wanted TFA movie itself to be the focus on its premiere. A Rogue One teaser before it may have confused audiences.
Happy New Year!
I kind of hope that the increased security thing is true – we can expect so much more in episode VIII and I want to be surprised. This year and the next will be great!
Me too! To be honest, I read all the rumours and potential spoilers expecting 90% of them to be wrong. Turns out, most of the movie was leaked beforehand. Once Episode 8 starts filming, I think I’ll have to show a bit of discipline and not read any potential spoilers!
Think I need to see the Rogue One teaser before I start to feel any excitement for it.
I agree! Just make it great and audiences will follow! I’m still reeling from TFA!
LOL why? TFA’s teasers and trailer were amazing and the movie was fan fed Disney dribble. What the hell would a good Rogue 1 teaser mean?
Strangely, like most, I loved TFA. Highly anticipating the sequels. Couldn’t care less if you never.
Ahch-to? Why not just call it the planet “sneeze”
Maybe it’s pronounced Ahch-toe
i read it as ak – toe
Yeah, at least we should have been able to pronounce the name of the planet!
Happy new year Star Wars people!
I doubt the force awakens will beat avatar for biggest movie of all time because avatar had many things going for it that can only happen once. First of all, it was the first BIG movie in 3D, making it a must see. Second, the movie was rereleased in theaters. The movie had no competition either, for 3 whole months
I’m hoping Rogue One ties somehow to the new trilogy. Otherwise they’re bouncing around too much.
it looks like for the time being the spinoffs will be exclusively in the gap between III and IV, shouldn’t require too much bouncing. 😉
Why the hell would it tie into the new trilogy, some 40+ years after the events? They STEAL the plans for the Death Star. In A New Hope. 1977. What possible connection could be made to TFA. Further more, WHY?
You must not have a very vivid imagination? 🙂
Well, the biggest theory is that Felicity Jones’ character is Rey’s (future) mother.
In TFA, we see among Rey’s personal items a rag doll that appears to be dressed in an orange Rebel pilot jumpsuit. And after dinner, Rey playfully puts on an old Rebel pilot helmet.
So we should keep an eye out for Jones’ character; maybe she wears a Rebel pilot uniform at one point. Or, maybe she already is a Rebel pilot, and is asked to lead the secret mission working with bounty hunters and mercenaries to steal the Death Star plans.
Thus, Rogue One could be indirectly providing us backstory to TFA in regard to Rey.
I like your theory!
Rey was born 11 years after the Battle of Endor, i.e roughly 14 years after the events in Rogue One. It would be weird to tie in Felicity Jones’ character to a daughter she would only have 14 years later !
Must be a Scottish planet.
the only bummer for 2016 is that there is(at present) only two new novels scheduled. after the flood we got last year and the rabid appetite for info on the 30 year time gap after RotJ, this a bit disappointing.
At least one of them is by Claudia Gray. Good.
that is true, helps offset the aftermath sequel. 😉
Rogue one is the most promising one among the three spinoff, in my opinion.
But I am wondering the ordinary movie audience could mistake it for Episode 8,
and there are no effect of nostalgia for 70’s second time.
Marketing of this movie would be tricky.
shouldn’t be too difficult. open with a slow fade onto a planet with one of the original pieces from ANH underscoring it, pan up slowly up, as tarkin starts talking over the shot, until you reveal the original death star in all its glory as the score shifts to the imperial march. then inner cut shots of the imperials cracking down on various planets and while one of the new characters is talking about having to do something before its late, a line in the sand. have a few character shots mixed with action/battle shots, then cut to black…with the sound of vader breathing over it. followed finally by the title card. gives you everything you need to know not only about the setting, but the type of movie as well.
Personally I think Rogue One will have none of that. No John Williams score, no opening pan down shot, wouldn’t be surprised if there is no opening crawl. I believe each anthology movie will have its own distinct style. There will be none of the nostalgia we saw in TFA. If Tarkin or Vader are in this movie, then it should be no more than a cameo appearance. Like TFA, the new cast should be able to carry the movie by themselves.
Vader should be the one who wipes out the squad. We know that they get the plans to Leia but do they survive? Presumably Vader is hunting them down before he pursues the Tantive IV. The last 20 minutes should be him just being a complete and total badass and destroying the team. His screen presense is all about reputation. I want to see him visually establish that terror and reputation. He is much scarier and powerful in print and comics. Time to transfer that to the screen.
well i was just talking about the first teaser which i think at least to start will be nothing but nostalgia then transition to the new by the end. even still, the movie itself will still have john williams inspired music, classic era baddies(if only sparingly used) and yes a crawl(because most non fanboys won’t have a clue what is going on without it). and while this movie overall will be different then what has come before it is still a star wars movie and has to reflect that to a degree.
It’s my opinion that a crawl may actually be counterproductive. Would prefer it went straight into the opening act with no intro music or crawl. The marketing campaign can easily explain the events and backstory.
It may not be evident for people whio follow Star Wars closely (like most posters on SWNN), but there is an overwhelming number of causual viewers who buy tickets for movies like TFA and know close to nothing about Star Wars. That is even more so outside the United States, where Star Wars is not such a cult phenomenon as it is in North America. So, yes, I think there is a real danger that part of the ordinary audience may mistake Roge One for a sequel to TFA and wonder what is going on in the movie. That in turn might hurt the real Episode VIII when it is finaççy released.
I haven’t seen the actual script but is the planet maybe called Ahch-2?
I would like to see TFA a third time, but I can’t knowing that I’ll get frustrated by it again at the same parts. The ridiculous things to read about this movie are the purported questions it asks. You see fans coming to their own conclusions when the best Star Wars movies (original trilogy) rarely had you do this, and if they did, they sure as hell knew what they were asking: is Darth Vader Luke’s father? Who is this ‘other’ Yoda mentioned?
Now I see why Abrams and Kasdan were scrambling to come up with a half-decent story, and true to form, it was only half-decent. Sad, too. Because the OT really did all the leg work already. It clearly established The Force and the galaxy it “bound” together. That’s a helluva head start. All they needed was a good plot, and they couldn’t even do that.
Search your feelings. You KNOW this to be true…
It seems like everything after Jakku was first draft material and that they panicked after they threw out Arndt’s script by tacking on the Battle Of Yavin at the end.
Funny, the end didn’t feel at all like the Battle of Yavin, since you know, it didn’t take place in space. With only starfighters zipping about. Instead we had what was happening on Starkiller base itself, with brief cuts to the X-Wings that diminished over time into a light saber battle…
Which didn’t happen at Yavin…At all. I think you’re confusing how Starkiller base parallels the Death Star as the entire sequence being an exact copy. Which ends any argument you’re trying to make for it because it obviously isn’t an exact copy.
Queue you crying there’s no Funeral for Han (Ala Qui Gonn, Padme, and Vader) or Awards Ceremony for the victors (As they had in ANH) in a hypocritical fashion since you spend most of your time complaining about how the movie is too similar to the others.
Predictable. And sad.
Battle of Endor is a better comparison if people paid attention.
No natives helping anyone on the ground let alone a ground battle going outside. Plus there was a trench run and not a superstructure chase.
Not as the plot point, however. Its a back drop to Kylo-Rey. Plus, shield generator and is Finn not technically a native?
Guess I should have said tribe of natives. I still think Artoo should have gone along though.
Below is how I felt. Seen it 4 times. Going back to see it on Monday.
Plenty of people had to come up with explanations watching the OT…
Was Vader lying? Who is the Emperor? Why did Obi-Wan lie? Who is the other ‘hope’?
You didn’t get any of those answers in the movies they were featured.
Nice!
Star Wars freaking pioneered the serial franchise with these cliffhangers.
But you knew the stakes, and the questions were deliberate choices in the writing as opposed to being shit fans have to find ways to excuse.
Its easy to say ‘deliberate’ questions when there’s only one movie of this trilogy out.
Its also not accurate about the OT – they made up who Leia was when Lucas decided not to continue the story, it was haphazard and hokey.
Sorry you have issues with the film. However, I do not and most people love the movie. It doesn’t make either one of our opinions superior. It just makes us different.
Yeah, I know. There were no plot holes in the OT! None at all! Of course there were, but we loved it anyway! Search your own feelings! LOL!
I don’t think plot holes are the issue here. The main problem is the scenario. The OT’s scenario just worked. Evil empire, rebels fighting for freedom and 3 young heroes taking on the bad guys. The new scenario is crap. Resistance allied with the Republic? First Order Nazi cult? Solo’s own son goes evil? The three heroes of the originals no longer talking to each other (for no other reason than to avoid them stealing the show from the more marketable young characters). The whole premise was bullshit.
I thought they weren’t talking with each other because of the shame they felt due to Ben Solo’s murder of his fellow students and joining the First Order.
Yeah The First Order is modeled after the nazis, just like the Empire was. Yes, Solo’s son goes evil, just like in the EU. Sorry you did not like the movie, bud.
Except that you never saw the empire do a Sieg Heil style salute or hold Nürnberg style gatherings with red flags. This here was ridiculous.
Agreed. Not only could they NOT come up with a good story, they then decided to copy one already written.
This has nothing to do with this article but whatever; how the freak is TFA able to get more emotion out of me from a look than the prequels did in three movies?!?!?! Like the back and forth close up of Rey and Luke literally makes my eyes swell up! Even thinking about it im getting chills! HOW?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!
And, unlike any of the Prequels, TFA had humorous bits that actually made me laugh. Like:
The two Stormtroopers who quickly nope’d themselves away from the interrogation room which Kylo was tearing up in his temper tantrum.
And that moment when Finn said to Han they could just hatch a plan on the spot, by using the Force, and Han glares at him: “THAT’S not how the Force works!”
The difference is in the prequels, George stupidly went the slapstick comedy route. Very similar to Laurel and Hardy or Three Stooges style. The original, Ep. IV, V, VI and now VII was more sarcastic or adult humor.
Agreed!

“Sorry, sweetheart, I don’t have time for anything else”
Oh man, I did NOT get that line until I was older lol
0:14-0:28 Cliff from Cheers. Maybe he’s Rey’s father.
1:50 – watch Harrison’s lips; he’s reading along with Carrie in what I can only assume is frustration with her coked-out-of-her-mind problem getting the line down.
That Stormtrooper bit was so forced that it ruined another moment where the main antagonist should’ve looked menacing instead of a joke. One of the multitude of Marvel-esque “jokes” that shatter the tone.
Hey its way better than a Zack Snyder movie. At least Force Awakens did not look like it went through a Instagram filter and filled to the brim with product placement. I wonder how much DC made for that Ihop ad they ran during the movie? That is what you called being forced into a movie.
What the fuck are you talking about?
But on a serious note, your name is hilariously awkward. Just reeks of loneliness and low self-esteem. Suck up to Disney a little more and maybe Bob Iger will let you give him a BJ.
No product placement in that comment Snyder and WB will be disappointed in you.
Dude, Han Solo was Tony Stark before Robert Downey Jr. acted in anything.
Damn tight!!! Great comment.
Both are shit.
“Oh really, YOU’RE cold?”
The whole scene will go down as some of the best Han stuff in four films.
Yeah I liked Finn & Han, when when Finn is actually trying to hatch a plan and Han keeps nodding to him. “What is that? What are you doing? I’m trying to actually come up with a plan.”
*shrugs* Star Wars movie that made the most ’emotional’ impact on me was RotS with Anakin yelling ‘I hate you’ to Obi Wan. Overall, I never found Star Wars movies to be emotional, but now that I think about it, that Hux speech was pretty damn strong! So yeah, a tie between Anakin and Hux for now! 😀
But OT only had one emotional scene tbh and that one was only emotional ’cause of the spin, nothing else.
The line before that was better, and the best moment of the prequels, miles above the other crap in there:
“You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!”
What’s sad is that the novel has a moment where Padme asks Obi-Wan: “Do you love him?” And Obi-Wan can’t answer, because of the Jedi dogma on attachments. The movie really needed that, instead of “From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!” UGH. The novelization is awesome. So many better scenes and dialogue than what made it into the shooting script.
It could have had emotion, but it didn’t. The biggest failure in the final duel in Revenge of the Sith was the fact that Anakin and Obi-Wan’s friendship was near completely glossed over in the first two films, not letting the audience to care about said friendship and letting it have impact when the friendship is destroyed.
I think TFA is just a better movie than the prequels that managed to bring us back into the Star Wars universe. George Lucas is not a good director. He directed ANH brilliantly, but after that??? The prequels were not directed well at all IMHO. Some of the acting (Ewan McGregor) was fantastic, but the whole prequels weren’t that good. I still like the story of the prequels, but not necessarily the movies themselves.
I was watching away, then BAM ,Leia n Han meet again and my 41 year old ass lost it,came from nowhere? Not had that much emotion since I was a young kid?
That back and forth edit is as painfully drawn-out as the orchestra hits leading up to the Sarlaac battle. How do you fuck up the reveal of Luke Skywalker after a 30 year absence? Oh, thanks, JJ, now I know.
WOW I completely disagree!
Really? I got chills each and every time I’ve seen it in theaters and when ever I listen to the soundtrack.
Big question is if the sequels and spin-offs will do just as well. There always seem to be a dropoff in any succeeding films in a series and like with ANH and TPM, There are always non-fans who just go for the spectacle which the next ones won’t have due to being released so quickly and the movies becoming less of events now.
Not gonna lie… I hope they dust off classic Vader. Even if it’s just a tragic scene with one of the Rogue’s buying the rest time by confronting Vader alone. Mmm good old force choking Vader!
I think it’s a safe bet that Vader will appear in Rogue One, and he will kill off most of the protagonists. Disney and Hasbro want to sell lots of Vader toys anew.
Ahch-to dee-too? Missa find weird.
Anyway, happy new year full of new SW excitements with news, rumors, trailers and Rogue One, and health to share and discuss it! 😉
Cheers all!
I just say this. I don’t saw any group of people which fit words ” Vocal Minorty ” better then 10% people which dont like TFA.
Gave me a laugh.
I laughed at Man of Steel’s critical score. It was hilarious.
Who are you, aside from a retard?
the man who is gonna murder your family
I laugh at at the pathetic clown behind your computer screen.
Zack Snyder is behind my computer screen?
No, it’s you.
Aw that is nice of you. They finally ban you from Batmannews so you have to share your miserable existence somewhere else? Hey at least Man of Steel got good reviews. ..oh wait. I was thinking about Forcertain Awakens I am sorry.
You see clowns behind commenter’s computer screens? You’re either very gifted, or extremely disturbed.
*insert meme illustrating a joke flying over a person’s head*
… and you spelt ‘butt fan’ wrong.
What were you called when you trolled Batman News? Are you that Rabum Alal clown, or whatever it was called? I know you have low self-esteem, but be yourself. No matter how hard you try, you can never become the “spinning badass”.
Go eat at Ihop and cry about how awful Man of Steel was. The first person to start saying someone has low self esteem usually has it themselves so if you want to troll that’s fine but everyone here is laughing at you.
There are no Ihops in my country. If there was, I’d probably go check it out.
And really, you want to talk about trolling? I don’t even know who you are, and as we know, it wasn’t me attacking your post out of the blue with some ridiculous, unrelated insults about a movie I like. It seems I have a stalker, Rabum.
Saw where your posts re getting deleted by mods. That kind of things tends to happen to trolls.
Ouch, that hurt. It’s ironic, though, since yours have been deleted just the same. “Spinning badass”. lol
Ahch-to dee-too? Missa find weird.
Anyway, happy new year full of new SW excitements with news, rumors, trailers and Rogue One, and health to share and discuss it! 😉

Hey guys at swnn, how about a poll of polls were we all rate our faves to least and then we can get a general consensus of where each film lies with us all?? Then again, on 2nd thoughts, i dont think the net could cope with all the bitching & difference of opinions it would generate, but it would be fun, some of these comments are piss funny. Heres mine to kick it all off, empire, hope, force, jedi, sith, clones and last and definitely least menace. Go……
Empire/SW tied for first (each for totally different reasons), Jedi second (sorry, there’s just no way ANYTHING in TFA gets close to touching the emotional stakes of everything in the throne room), TFA and RotS tied for third (TFA has better direction, but RotS has higher stakes, and Order 66 is a fantastic sequence), AotC fourth (shoot me – I’m a sucker for the Harryhausen homage), and TPM fifth simply because it never finds a decent pacing.
Went to see the force awakens for the first time ……..this year!
4th time in total and it just gets better.
I discover more each time I see it. Spotted R2-Kt in 3 scenes!
Mouse droids in 2
And when maz said they are not coming back but anothet will
Ray said “Luke” seemed to suggest Luke is in some way a relation but not daughter.
Will we find more to the sky walker liniage. I duno just seemed to realy stick out this time
Allso heard yoda but carnt make out any thing he is actually saying.
after seeing it for the third time the other day(yay!), i’m beginning to think rey isn’t previously trained like many have been conjecturing. obi-wan told her in her force vision these were her first steps, while if she had previous training i think he would have told her something like “remember” instead.
Obi-Wan’s voice in the force vision is not in the novelization and was not in the original WGA script either. I guess it’s something JJ added a posteriori just to get Ewan McGregor in the movie. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
but reading too much into things is what we do best. 😉 besides, it echos(rhymes?) too closely to what obi-wan told luke in ANH for it to be a just a throwaway.
What I wouldn’t read too much into is the novelization. SW is not Potter or TLotR. The novels are based on the films, not the other way around. Here it’s the films’ final cut takes precedence as canon over anything else.
Besides, even if Abrams had just brought McGregor into the film for a short voice cameo, the phrase is important. If it wasn’t, Abrams could’ve had Ewan say anything else.
Petition to bring George Lucas back

LMFAO you guys are hillarious
Lolno. Do you really want another prequel trilogy? The only good thing that could come out that would be three more amazing Plinkett reviews.
Say, remind me – are are those self-indulgent 45 minute straw-man-filled slogs with hilarious rape and murder jokes? Priceless.
You lost me at “don’t understand film”.
Actually they’re roughly 90 minutes each. And I’m pretty sure ‘straw man’ is not the term you want to use, that doesn’t make sense.
This was the most british sentece I’ve ever read.
no
Watch out, “Spinning Badass” (can’t stop cracking up at that) and the other badasses of the Disney gushers gang are going to exact bloody revenge on you.
tell me the last decent movie george lucas made
Howard the Duck!!
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. 1989, or when the Soviet Union still existed.
fucking idiot slave
no, its time for lucas to go into exile. failed he has.
Yes, he failed. But Disney failed more.
Every critic ever would have to disagree. 94% on Rotten Tomatoes with over 300 reviews. I rest my case.
Red Tails might be worse than AOTC and TPM. In fact, I think it is. So pardon me if people don’t want to bank on GL after those movies, we don’t even have to talk prequels.
Good point
All he needed was to get some good directors to do his films, tweaks the weak parts of his plots and get the actors to interact. I’m hoping the next episode is more original and we don’t get cgi blaster bolts suspended in the air again by the force.
A writer. My god did he need a writer to take a real final pass through his drafts. There is SO much good story there, and that’s the real tragedy of the PT.
I honestly don’t know what he or what ‘they’ were thinking. What kind of professional see’s Jar-Jar and says “Oh, there’s nothing wrong here, print that and go!” Or the Neimoidians????? Or ‘sand’…ugh.
I honestly blame the people around George Lucas just as much as he. Its hard to think that he was that stubborn about things like that. Ugh, I dunno.
Well, look at the bright side: Without the prequels there would be no Plinkett reviews. I think those reviews are thousand times better than the actual movies. When doing a SW marathon I always watch those instead of the prequels. At least those are entertaining.
*Wants something original.
*quotes something that was seen for the first time.
Um..
Original in terms of story…….not special effects to amaze those that can’t follow plot.
Ahch-to? Must be in the “Gesundheit” star system. I’m getting the feeling Disney is trolling the fans with these idiotic new names.
Its pronounced “Aakt-to”. Relax, people.
Tomorrow it is number 1 in the US. Amazing. Might mean we get 10-20 more Movies Before it is all over .-)
