‘Ahsoka’: First Character Posters Showcase Its Heroes and Villains

It’s that time in the marketing season again. Character posters for the upcoming Ahsoka series have been released, featuring its various heroes and villains. Those highlighted have been the most prominent across the show’s trailers and spots ahead of the series’ two-episode debut on August 23.

Let’s begin with the light side of the Force and the title character Ahsoka, Hera Syndulla, and Sabine Wren. Check them out below.

Slightly repositioned from the poster that came out with the main trailer, Ahsoka’s gets up close and personal with her signature white lightsaber ablaze. Rebellion leader Hera, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, has her blaster drawn and ready to fire. Lastly, Sabine stands prepared for battle with Ezra’s (or hers if we want to get technical) lightsaber. All three are set against the backdrop with World Between Worlds-like imagery. It won’t be long before we know for sure if that is where the series is going.

Regarding that particular story element, the trailers have indicated that it is Grand Admiral Thrawn’s forces bringing it to the party. Three character posters have also been released showcasing the late Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll, his apprentice Shin Hati, and Morgan Elsbeth. Check them out below:

Each of the above antagonists are in unique locations shown in the marketing. Morgan Elsbeth appears to be in Thrawn’s throne room, which is showered in gold. The big-baddy’s absence from this first batch of posters is likely intentional. Lucasfilm always releases new posters as the series goes on so Thrawn is a good one to keep in the chamber.

In regards to Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, their characters are described to be hired by Elsbeth as mercenaries, but what other secrets may they have? For now, we’ve mostly seen Baylan with Ahsoka and Ivanna Sakhno’s Shin targeting Sabine, making it apparent the series is going for a master-versus-master and apprentice-versus-apprentice dual plot thread story, assuming theories about Sabine are correct.

Ahsoka is nearly two weeks away, and the countdown is on. We here at Star Wars News Net are in the middle of our own series, looking back at the character’s journey through The Clone Wars, Rebels, and more. You can find all entries here.
