New Spot for ‘Ahsoka’ Highlights Master and Apprentice Relationships Throughout the ‘Star Wars’ Saga And Emphasizes Ahsoka and Sabine

Disney has released yet another new spot advertising the upcoming Ahsoka series and they continue to get creative with footage in order to raise awareness for the show without revealing too much plot. This time around, they accessed the entirety of the saga and edited together a compilation of master and apprentice footage that included Obi-Wan and Anakin, Obi-Wan and Luke, Darth Vader and Darth Sidious, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, Rey and Luke, Kylo Ren and Luke, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, and perhaps most importantly in this exhaustive list, Anakin and Ahsoka, and Ahsoka and Sabine.

Check out the clip below:

I don’t think it’s random that Anakin and Ahsoka are featured in the beginning with Anakin being shown prominently during the voiceover for the word “master” and Ahsoka being shown prominently for the voiceover for the word “apprentice.” While I don’t think knowledge of Ahsoka’s extensive experience as Anakin’s Padawan will be critical to the enjoyment of the show, they’re clearly trying to clue in fans who may be interested in Star Wars, but not caught up on the animation.

The most footage, of course, was given to Ahsoka and Sabine. Once again, hitting us over the head with the upcoming exploration of their master and apprentice relationship, which will be new to all fans, including shots of Sabine calling Ahsoka “master” and igniting Ezra’s lightsaber. We’re all very curious to see how this plays out, and, hopefully, we also get some information on how we got to this master and apprentice relationship in the first place.

Stay tuned for the latest and greatest on the upcoming Ahsoka series, and in the meantime, check out our report on yesterday’s promo, which contained new footage.

Ahsoka airs on Disney Plus with a two-episode premiere on August 23rd.
