‘Ahsoka’ Full Trailer Is Here, Series to Debut on August 23 With Two Episodes

A full trailer for Ahsoka has just dropped with two episodes set to debut on August 23. The trailer provides our best look yet at the story of the series, as well as new hints at where the character of Sabine is at in the new series, and our first official look at Thrawn.

We used to think that Sabine’s hairstyle changes indicated a jump in the timeline inside the series, but the new trailer confirmed this is not exactly the case, as she may get that haircut at the beginning of the adventure. However, the World Between Worlds is set to play a pivotal role in the series, as hinted by the logo and perhaps even the trailer (although the latest footage seems to take down some theories, more on this in our analysis of the trailer, coming up soon). At least part of the events will take place after her appearances in The Mandalorian season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. The official synopsis for the series reads:

“Set after the fall of the Empire, Star Wars: Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.”

The cast includes Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Hayden Christensen will also reportedly appear in the series, though Lucasfilm has not yet confirmed a 20-month-old story by The Hollywood Reporter. (Rosario Dawson was even asked about it recently but played it coy.)

It will run for eight episodes starting on August 23 with two episodes and ending on October 4. Dave Filoni wrote all of them and directed between two and three. Additional directing duties were picked up by Rick Famuyiwa, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, and Geeta Vasant Patel.

Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as movies from Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
