Fans Remake Final Duel From ‘Revenge of the Sith’ in the Style of ‘The Clone Wars’

A group of fans have taken the painstaking effort of recreating the climactic duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi from Revenge of the Sith in the same animation style as The Clone Wars.

First announced on July 20, 2020, Hello There Animation has finally completed their full recreation the nearly-seven-minute duel on Mustafar in a nearly-sixteen-minute animated fan film called Clone Wars: Battle of the Heroes, featuring dialogue, music, and audio from Revenge of the Sith. Here is what they had to say about the release of the project after a long development cycle:

“It is with great excitement that I present CLONE WARS: BATTLE OF THE HEROES! Witness the epic showdown between Anakin and Obi-Wan in the style [of] The Clone Wars.

After years of hard work and dedication, I am proud to present this reimagination of the iconic scene. Thank you everyone who supported us throughout this journey! You have all been so patient and encouraging and we could not have done it without each and every one of you!”

The short film was animated by Hello There Animation founder Ben Johnson, with various sound editing and musical composition duties handled by Tyler Grow, Mike Pierluissi, Nicholas Pawlenko, Byron Childs, Prajwal Kandel, Rafael Castano Marin, Luke Truan, Madison Debrock, Truman McCaw, and Chris Valencia.

Aside from the duel itself, the short film also features a prologue consisting of a fully-animated snippet from the unfinished animatics for the “Crystal Crisis On Utapau” story arc from The Clone Wars, along with an epilogue showcasing a few events in Revenge of the Sith that take place after Anakin’s defeat, including his transformation into Darth Vader.
