New ‘Young Jedi Adventures’ Episodes Available Now, Includes Book Characters and Life Day Special

The recently Children’s & Family Emmy-nominated Young Jedi Adventures is back for more. Streaming now on Disney Plus are six new episodes, featuring the return of Jedi younglings Kai, Lys, Nubs, and their pal Nash. These episodes aren’t your normal ones though. They feature the debut of various High Republic book characters, and a holiday special, a staple in children’s programming.

In Charhound Chase, written by Cavan Scott, the gang will meet Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm and his Padawan Bell Zettifar. Elsewhere, Stuck in the Muck brings us face-to-face with Estala Maru when they visit Starlight Beacon. That episode takes place sometime before its dedication ceremony, an event that was the formal in-universe kickoff of the High Republic publishing initiative. Rounding out the episodes is the aforementioned holiday special, which if you know your infamous Star Wars holidays, it can only mean one thing: Life Day.

Life Day comes to Young Jedi Adventures

Below you can find a brief breakdown of each new episode (episodes 14-19 of the 25-episode first season), now available on Disney Plus:

14. Charhound Chase / Creature Comforts

  • Kai tracks Bell’s lost pet. Lys helps with a wild creature.

15. An Adventure with Yoda / The Talon Takeover

  • The Young Jedi team up with Yoda. Taborr is captured.

16. Mystery of the Opal Cave / Clash

  • Jedi explore a haunted cave. Kai and a rival team up.

17. Stuck in the Muck / Junkyard Sleepover

  • Jedi answer a distress call. A night at the Junkyard.

18. The Great Leaf Glide / The Harvest Feast

  • Younglings learn to sky surf. The Jedi save a feast.

19. Life Day / Raxlo Strikes Back

  • The Jedi help a Wookiee. The kids protect wellagrins.

Debuting earlier this year, the preschool-targeted Young Jedi Adventures is nearing the end of its first season. The presumed last batch, episodes 20-25 will debut sometime in 2024.

The Young Jedi Adventures team spoke with StarWars.com about the ever-expanding world of the show and the High Republic era. They had this to say on what it’s been like seeing this show find its audience:

Cavan Scott: “From the beginning, The High Republic was all about giving people different entry points depending on their age and what they’re into… So to see these characters appear in a show as precious and delightful as Young Jedi Adventures, knowing that Bell and Ember will be there for a new generation of kids who are first discovering the Jedi, it’s just humbling and wonderful.”

Michael Olson, EP: “It’s been heartwarming to hear from parents whose children initially weren’t showing interest in Star Wars, but after watching our show, became fans.”

I haven’t had a chance to watch every episode yet, but one thing that has impressed me as this season has gone on is seeing the confidence in the behind-the-scenes team grow. More episodes are getting closer to what you’d expect of a classic Star Wars adventure than the standard “new plush animal of the week” episodes that were largely served in the initial set. I don’t expect this show to challenge Bluey any time soon as the premier young children’s offering on Disney Plus, but for Star Wars families, it could already be there.

You can find all of these episodes streaming now on Disney Plus, with them rolling out on Disney Junior in the coming weeks.
