Hasbro to Reintroduce Windows and Blisters to 6-Inch Figures

Good news for Hasbro toy collectors: the company has revealed plans to put more polish into their 6-inch figure line by reintroducing windows and blisters to their toys and toy packaging, and that includes Star Wars figures.

As we wait for updates from the show floor of Star Wars Celebration Europe, a recent email correspondence from Hasbro has indicated that they will be reintroducing blisters and plastic in their toy lines for a number of figures and associated products, which of course means that the galaxy far, far away is not too far behind. Here’s what they had to say:

We wanted to share an update on packaging for Hasbro’s 6-inch-scale figures. Based on your feedback, we will be re-introducing windows and blisters to our 6-inch fan figures beginning later this year, into 2024 for select products across our portfolio of brands, including, G.I. Joe Classified, Power Rangers Lightning Collection, Star Wars Black Series and Marvel Legends. This will eventually expand to all new 6-inch figure releases.

The new windows and blisters will be made from bio PET or recycled PET helping us achieve our priority of meeting our fans’ expectations for extraordinary packaging and superior design while still developing packaging that minimizes waste and the use of virgin plastic.

For those not well-versed in toyspeak, windows are clear packaging that allow people to look inside the box. For a long while, things like vehicles were completely covered up by the box packaging, but thanks to this new change, buyers can get a glimpse of what they’re purchasing before they put their money down. Meanwhile, blisters are packages that more tightly cover the characters and objects being featured. It’s also great to hear that Hasbro is able to reintroduce these features in toy packaging without creating an excessive plastic problem.

We’ll be sure to cover more Star Wars Celebration Europe news as they come our way.
