‘Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures’ Phase 1 Comics Getting Two New Collections This Year
Dark Horse Comics and Lucasfilm are formally announcing two omnibuses for Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures to be released later this year.
The first of these is Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – The Complete Phase 1, a 368-page collection of every single issue in the series during The High Republic Phase 1, including six never-before-collected issues, a new epilogue story, and the Galactic Bake-Off Spectacular one-shot.
The series follows the adventures of Jedi Padawans Lula, Farzala, and Qort and their masters Yoda and Torban “Buckets of Blood” Buck on their mission to rescue the inhabitants of Trymant IV during a deadly attack by the Nihil. Two local teenagers, Zeen and Krix, are separated and taken in by the Jedi and Nihil respectively, and have to make a decision to trust each other or put their faith in their newfound allies. The compendium is written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Harvey Tolibao, colored by Rebecca Nalty, and lettered by Jake M. Wood.
This collection will be available in bookstores on August 29 and comic shops on August 30, 2023. It is available for pre-order online and in local book and comic shops, priced at $29.99.
We can also reveal the second of these omnibuses: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures: The Monster of Temple Peak and Other Stories, a 136-page collection, is on its way.
The Monster of Temple Peak — written by Cavan Scott — follows the former Jedi Padawan-turned-mercenary monster hunter Ty Yorrick, as she heads to Loreth after the events of the Republic Fair to take on a fearsome beast called the Gretalax that is terrorising the locals. Interior and cover art were done by Rachael Stott, with lettering by Studio RAM and colors by Watermark Studio. This volume will collect all four issues of the miniseries.
The collection also features Phase 1 short stories written by Daniel José Older, Charles Soule, Claudia Grey, and Justina Ireland, with art by Sam Beck, Jason Loo, Yael Nathan, Jesse Lonergan, and Stefano Simeone. It will be available in bookstores on October 10 and comic shops on October 11, 2023. It is also available for pre-order online and in local book or comic shops, priced at $19.99.
