‘The Acolyte’ Casts Margarita Levieva in Guest Star Role

The cast of the Disney Plus series Star Wars: The Acolyte has just expanded with Margarita Levieva joining the show as a guest star.

 

Deadline reports that Levieva, who recently signed with the Paradigm talent agency, will be joining The Acolyte in a guest role for an unspecified number of episodes. Levieva had recurring roles on the television series How to Make It in America, Revenge, and The Blacklist, and in more recent years has had main roles in The Deuce, In From the Cold, and the upcoming miniseries Litvinenko. Her film credits include AdventurelandThe Lincoln Lawyer, and The Diary of a Teenage GirlThe Acolyte is currently filming in the United Kingdom.

 

As recently revealed by one of the show’s starsThe Acolyte tells a story set approximately 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, following the story of two Jedi that investigate a series of unusual crimes which lead them to realize that a sinister plot to infiltrate the Jedi Order is underway. The show is set near the end of the time period known as the High Republic Era, which was a period of relative peace and prosperity where the Galactic Republic was at a cultural and economic peak. The show will help detail some of the steps that started the long, intricate downfall that led to the Republic’s people being coerced into the belief that the government needed to be reorganized into the Galactic Empire, which would put the Sith in power and support the eventual state-sponsored genocide of the Jedi.

 

Star Wars: The Acolyte is now in production and will be released on Disney Plus. No official release date has been given yet, but the series is expected to arrive either very late into 2023 or in early 2024. The show’s star-studded cast includes the likes of Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Margarita Levieva.
