‘The Mandalorian’: Christopher Lloyd Plays Coy About Joining Third Season

Christopher Lloyd is keeping his mouth shut about whether or not he will be appearing in the third season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, despite prior reports suggesting that he is involved in the third season of the hit Disney Plus series.

Back in March, it was indicated by The Hollywood Reporter that Lloyd would appear in some kind of guest role for the third outing of the popular Star Wars show, albeit with no indication of what kind of character he might be playing. A fan recently brought up this question at Fanboy Expo Knoxville two Saturdays ago, to which he gave a pretty blunt reply saying that he can’t say anything and that he also doesn’t know anything:

“We were all sworn to secrecy… So, I don’t know!”

So his denial, oddly enough, also appears to be a bit of a confession – conventional thinking says that you don’t say that you’ve sworn to stay secretive if you didn’t get a part. Lloyd most likely won’t get in trouble here thanks to how he worded this answer, but it can be assumed that THR’s reporting was on the right track.

You can watch Lloyd’s quote below:

Whether or not Lloyd appears, the show is confirmed to feature series lead Pedro Pascal back once again as Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian, along with his adoptive son Grogu. Series regulars set to make a return include Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Emily Swallow as the Armorer, and Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing. Tim Meadows also appears in an unspecified role, and Babu Frik, a character from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is also confirmed to make an appearance. Taika Waititi is also rumored to be involved in an acting role.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian will return in February 2023.
