Also EA has just revealed what we can expect from The Last Jedi season content, which will be released to warm us before the release of the movie. Check it out:

From EA:

It all starts with choosing a side. On December 5, you’ll have an opportunity to align with the First Order or choose to fight for the Resistance. Your choice is important, as it will allow you to take part in special challenges that will grant your faction specific rewards.

Things kick into high gear on December 13. Your favorite stormtrooper-turned-hero Finn joins the fight for the Resistance and Captain Phasma steps on to the Battlefront for the First Order. They can be purchased with in-game Credits that week. Whichever faction is victorious in completing the most challenges that week will net a reward as well: a special Crate of high-power upgrades for Finn or Captain Phasma.

New locations and vehicles will also arrive. On December 13, the cinematic content from Star Wars™: The Last Jedicontinues with a new planetary map: Crait. The Starfighter Assault map of D’qar will join as well, plus a new hero ship –  Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-wing. Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing is also upgraded with a new ability inspired by Star Wars™The Last Jedi .

Iden Versio returns. In Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II Resurrection, you’ll join Commander Iden Versio during the days of the First Order’s rise to power. This all new chapter of Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II’s single-player story mode will be available December 13.

Your choice of faction will continue to matter. Throughout December, you’ll see your chosen faction’s progress reflected in-game, as you fight alongside allies from around the world to swing the tide of battle.

15 minutes, isn’t that like, the full campaign?

I know some fan is going to say that I am nitpicking, but marketing towards these games and movies is really getting ridiculous. fifteen mins of the campaign?! I can see like a few mins, but that seems like it is revealing too much.

And really when one steps into a theater or plays a game and they don’t feel as much excitement, due to seeing all the cool moments and scenes, it really becomes evident. Personally, I had that with Thor Ragnarok and the Hulk.

I still loved the movie, but yeah; I find that over marketing a product by revealing too much often times can be a bane rather than a blessing. Even though, I understand why; they want to keep awareness and interest.

Especially, given how a property like Star Wars is so massive and popular.

Right there with you. I plan on playing the campaign with my wife in co-op play (hope we can do that on our PCs) and I want to be surprised with this one. As interested in this as I am, I’ll be passing on it and will leave it for next week when we play together.

I’m glad there are those that feel the same way. I mean the game is coming soon and I look forward to playing this game, namely its campaign. Having just read Inferno Squad, I enjoyed it. Even though that cover is super misleading.

Plus, it will be nice to see the story set between ROTJ and TFA. As I do like that timeline with the Aftermath books and the Dameron comics having been the stuff I kept up with.

My wife was wanting the book for Christmas, but was curious if it was a “must read” before playing the game. What is your opinion on this?

I really enjoyed the book. Christie Golden is an amazing writer. Even a book like Dark Disciple(which I didn’t like) , I always felt like she wrote well. But this was no exception.

The prose was crisp and clear. The story itself is intriguing. Although I personally tire of seeing SWs from the Imperial side, this story was done well. I really do think that the book did a good job of developing Iden who I argue is really cool.

The book, I do think does set up some interesting events that could happen in the game. I won’t spoil it, but while I did find it predictable, it was well done.

What’s funny is that the book actually kind of mirrors the game in that the book starts right after the Battle of Yavin IV and the game is the Battle of Endor. There are also some cool connections in the book, namely from Rebels Rising and TCW, but I won’t go into depth.

Overall, I found it to be a solid book, Not the greatest in the world but certainly not the worst. And I do think it is worth checking out.

Thanks! It’ll be under our tree. That way she can find out the story in true Star Wars fashion, all out of sequence! 🙂

No problem. What I will say is that this book is horribly misleading if you judge it by the cover. And it sucks. But getting past that, the story itself is good. It is a surprisingly great take on the SWs mythos as it is like Rogue One to where it is very grungy and there is a lot of moral grey. Which I like.

But I am sure she will enjoy it.

Ima just say this again – if they’ve included bots for SP, and they’ve implemented them in a limited couch co-op so we KNOW it’s not too taxing on the game engine or the hardware that’s running it, then there is no reason local co-op can’t or shouldn’t have been extended across all modes and maps. Come on EA, throw me a frickin’ BONE here.

This looks cool as hell. Can anyone tell me, is this what the game should look like graphics-wise? I haven’t owned a console system since I got an Atari for Christmas when I was a kid in the early 80’s. I’m seriously thinking about getting a console system just so I can play this game.

Impossible to tell which platform this is on, but I’ve extensively played the PS4 beta and the graphics are very much on a similar level of quality to this.

This game is a dumpster fire.
Dying repeatedly, because you refuse to pay more than the price of the base game, is NOT awesome. The game LOOKS amazing; plays like shite.
Titanfall 2 and DOOM 4 were better games, that weren’t ruined by greed.
