Nope, I think they’re going to introduce a Strong, Empowered, Capable Protagonist and make her a genocidal monster, loyal to the Empire right to the end*.

she doesn’t need to be a genocidal monster but it would be great to see characters actually stick with the empire. i’m really tired of seeing people having a change of heart arc.

It’s almost as tiresome as seeing Rebels cosplaying as Empire personnel and sneaking into bases unnoticed.

well at least in TLJ we’ll have resistance members cosplaying as first order personnel this time. totally different. 😉

Well. They’re outnumbered about a quintillion to one. So they don’t engage Imperial forces head on. If they do, even if they squeak out a victory as they did in Rogue One, they lose more than they can afford to.

Even at Endor, their Fleet got punked hard. There is a reason they cosplay to infiltrate. They’re fighting a guerrilla war.

This looks amazing. I cannot wait to play this game. Having read Inferno Squad, I am most curious to see Iden in this game. Plus, I look forward to seeing how this game bridges ROTJ and TFA.

Just sayin’, start your ‘expectation’ tempering engines now. As excited as I was for this game, as we’re nearing release it’s starting to look like this is not going to be pretty.

Follow up: Neill Blomkamp has been experimenting with short films rendered entirely within the Unity video game engine that look spectacular (good enough for the small screen, anyway). Maybe using this technique for a TV series isn’t feasible just yet… but in a few years? I wouldn’t be surprised.

    Did anybody play the beta?

Galactic Assault is really good. They’ve totally overhauled the game. Feels more structured, more linear, more of a team game. The scoring engine is very Overwatch. Graphics and sound are much improved. Full of neat little touches like the intro with the Battledroids marching the Clone Troopers down the street whilst more Battledroids arrive in batches (just like in TPM). The citizens of Tweed caught up in the battle, screaming and running for cover. The framed portraits of Queen Amidala and Govenor Sio Bibble hanging on the walls inside the palace.

I’m very much looking forward to its release.

I played it and I am not sure how I feel about the Battlepoints system. In my time with it it seems like everyone was just saving up for the opportunity to play as a hero character. There were no reinforcements or tanks or others in play for most of my matches.

Yeah, I was guilty of that. Earning enough to become Rey or Maul, or settle on being a Wookie Warrior. I do prefer this over the randomness of its predecessor. Also, one of my biggest Battlefront bugs were being wiped out from above, the whole hapless of it as the fighter flies on. I won’t miss that to be honest.

To be honest it was also extremely smart/tactical to have the best saved for the final and hardest push. Taking the Throne Room needed heroes.

I was guilty of saving up to play a hero and never getting the chance because I wasn’t very good 🙁
Mind you wandering around the map looking at scenery always did get me killed in Battlefront.

Vader is important to us as viewers, not the Empire. The Emperor was known by all, Vader was not.

Exactly. I got the impression that though he was not a secret, it was not exactly public knowledge that he even existed. The galaxy was so big, I would think his mere existence would be rumor in some areas.

Vader is dead, we saw his spirit haha.

True but Vader was still known throughout the entire empire and most of the rebellion. Was seen more than the emperor by his peers. Krennic feared him more than the emperor who was just someone he could get a promotion from

But still not as big a deal as the leader dying.

Saw anakins spirit now vaders. I bet Disney lucasfilm will do something about that and try to make vaders sith spirit still alive. Because from obi wans point of view Vader was seduced by the dark side and anakins skywalker was dead making Vader his own entity. I know it sounds weird but I wouldn’t be surprised after all this new canon forcebsck vision stuff.

Your father was seduced by the dark side of the Force. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed. So what I told you was true, from a certain point of view.
