Disney Reveals D23 Schedule and Events!!!
Disney has revealed the schedule for this summer’s D23, and as you might have guessed several of the panels will likely involve Star Wars! Here are the panels we expect to include Star Wars as well as addressing some rumors we’ve reported on from sources earlier this year!
DISNEY LEGENDS AWARDS CEREMONY (10 AM)
Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger will kick off this year’s D23 Expo with the special ceremony that honors this year’s Disney Legends Award recipients. See the full list of 2017 honorees here.
Star Wars’ own Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will be among the legends honored!
It is great to see these two iconic actors joining the ranks as Disney legends.
THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS LIVE-ACTION FILMS (10:30 AM)
The wonderful worlds of Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm come together to showcase their exciting slate of upcoming films. At D23 Expo 2015, we got our first glimpses at Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Beauty and the Beast, Doctor Strange, and more fan favorites… We can’t wait to see what’s on deck for this year’s presentation!
In a previous article we mentioned that you won’t want to miss this event if you want more info on the Han Solo spin-off movie. Of course we can expect some The Last Jedi mentions as well.
The link to our article on that information can be found here.
WALT DISNEY PARKS AND RESORTS (3 PM)
Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek will take the stage during this presentation to share what’s new and what’s next at Disney Parks and Resorts around the globe.
Hopefully we get more details regarding the highly anticipated Star Wars land that was covered during a panel at Celebration in Orlando, although details on the park were covered rather extensively during that panel at SWCO.
D23 will be taking place July 14-16th at the Anaheim Convention Center. What are you most excited about? Do you think we’ll get the name of the Han Solo movie? At least we know his name is still Han Solo!

I’m assuming Han Solo will be finished filming by July so i like our odds for a teaser.
It’s going to a fun juggling act for Luscafilm/Disney to successfully market and show trailers/teasers for two movies that are coming out in the next year.
Totally. But they do at least have some experience from marketing multiple marvel films every year.
I don’t see a trailer happening. At least not a wide release one. If they did anything it’d be one of those behind close doors things like they did with Rogue One. Their marketing machine is going into full episode 8 swing.
Any way you slice it over lap between the two films is inevitable. That was the situation they made by keeping solo in may.
I see them releasing the titles, and maybe the kind of video that mostly only hardcore fans like us will care about. For example, I gather that the general public doesn’t watch behind the scenes videos with a few footage snippets as much as they watch more traditional trailers. But this kind of stuff gets the fans excited, and that creates a buzz that the general public can pick up on.
I don’t see the big deal. Justice League trailers are out before Wonder Woman is in theaters.
They won’t stream any of this, will they?
I don’t believe so, no. Periscope is your friend.

“At D23 Expo 2015, we got our first glimpses at Star Wars: The Force Awakens”
Wat?
I hope there’s a new trailer. I don’t know if I should mention this but there’s a rumor going around that Han Solo dies in Force Awakens. Shhhhhh. You didn’t hear it from me!
What?! For real?!
On ‘The Last Jedi’ and Han Solo front I have low expectations. Perhaps the title of the Han Solo movie. No teasers, and no BTS footage though.
And hopefully a bit more about the games as well!
