Billie Lourd to have a bigger role in Star Wars: Episode VIII

Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd had a brief role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Kaydel Ko Connix. She played a human female lieutenant and a junior controller in the Resistance base on the planet D’Qar. In a recent interview, the young actress revealed that her character will return in Star Wars: Episode VIII, and not only that, but she will have a much bigger role this time.

Billie Lourd’s role in The Force Awakens was more like an Easter egg with her specific hair buns and her only line in the movie addressed towards her mother’s character – General Leia:

General, are you seeing this?

Now it seems that Lourd will have a bigger role in Rian Johnson’s sequel to The Force Awakens.

In a recent interview the actress was discussing her role in the second season of Scream Queens, when she was asked about her upcoming projects. Lourd didn’t miss the chance to praise directors J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson and revealed that she will return for Episode VIII with a bigger role with more lines than she had for The Force Awakens.

She also briefly discussed what is it like working with your mother on the same production.

You can watch the interview below. The Episode VIII part starts at 17:30.

With Rogue One already released, we will slowly start to receive more news about Episode VIII and Han Solo. While we all enjoyed Rogue One, many of you will agree that there is something special with the Saga movies that makes you more impatient and makes the wait even more exciting.

361 days to go! 🙂

Yeah, Bistan and Moroff had their screen time snipped down to almost nothing in Rogue One. Too early to say how much we’ll see of any secondary character.

I’m half a year behind on VIII spoilers but wasn’t Leia supposed to be in a coma in the early drafts? Carrie’s past her acting prime and out of shape to boot, Plus it feels wrong having her outlive Han. I have no problem with her getting deep sixed.

My Wife will be happy to hear this news as she’s her favorite character in Scream Queens. I haven’t really seen anything of hers outside that though. I don’t mind her as much as that stupid Daniel Craig and Simon Pegg cameo though. Probably since they are both massive tools in real life.
