Today we have more interviews with Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen and Riz Ahmed, Entertainment Weekly discusses the U-Wing design, Rogue One finishes post production, an early screening in Japan and more.

Entertainment Weekly has a new special feature discussing the design of the U-Wing from Rogue One:

Two days ago ILM’s lead visual effects artist Todd Vaziri, pretty much confirmed that the work on the Rogue One visual effects has finished (via Screenrant).

Japan will have a special advance screening of Rogue One on December 8. This is 2 days earlier from the premiere in LA on December 10 that we know about. This means that people should be extra cautious if they don’t want to be spoiled for a whole week before the movie officially hits theaters.

I’m kinda worried about a whole ‘Tony Gilroy earning 5 milions and changing the ending of the movie’ news… 🙁

      Why?

I’m more interested in how that information could’ve possibly gotten out. There can’t be too many people that know how much he earned.

I don’t care how much they paid him… but interesting that they have changed the ending. As long as it is good, I don’t care! But I hope they didn’t decide to go for the happy ending, where everybody lives…

“But I hope they didn’t decide to go for the happy ending, where everybody lives…”

Until we see the movie or know what the old ending is, this is a silly thing to say.

I think “silly” is a bit harsh. Premature, yes – I’ll admit to that. You are correct – I haven’t seen the movie, and don’t know what the old ending was, or if indeed it has been changed.

But I can’t imagine a scenario where all, many, or even ANY of our Rogue One heroes make it out of this alive, and ride off into the sunset.

We know from ANH that the plans end up on the Tantive IV, and that all of the crew except Leia are likely killed. I doubt Vader would be lenient on the Rebels who stole the plans.

It would also be a little bit strange to have a group of heroes like this serve the rebellion well, and then never be heard from again in the OT.

However, as you’ll see in the second sentence of my post above – I really don’t care, as long as the movie is good.

BUT – my personal preference, silly or otherwise, is that we don’t get a happy ending where the team (or most of them) all live. As much as it might frighten the kiddies, these Rebels have pissed off the Dark Lord of the Sith himself – that has consequences. Consequences I’d like to see played out on the big screen 🙂

Well, “silly” might not be right, but it’s nicer than what most online say haha. Premature is correct. We can’t judge anything without knowing what the other ending would have been. Or even if it was changed a little or a lot. Too many unknowns.

I also think they will die, but it’s HOW they die and how the movie frames it that they might change changed. A dark ending or one that gives a promise of hope for their sacrifice? That can be a huge difference.

I have a feeling they end up escorting Bail Organa home 🙂

I have had that same exact thought. Our surviving Rogue One heroes are stationed or debriefing on Alderaan and they make that fact clear. For the first time ever, we are forced to care about “peaceful Alderaan being blown out of the sky.”

I doubt it, purely because not every member of the casual audience will remember Alderaan by name.

I mean, when billions of innocents are killed for no reason, I care about it even when I don’t know any of them.

Agree. Ignore UD. He just thinks he knows better than you.

As much as it’ll be a downer, I can’t see any scenario where they’d survive. After all, they’d be Rebel heroes and certainly crucial to the destruction of the Death Star. Why would they just vanish?

Where does it say they changed the ending of the movie?

i’d rather they change it to something they liked rather than staying with a so-so product. SW deserves that level of quality control.

U-Wing design is cool but you’ve basically got no visibility on anything below you.

Isn’t that true with many other SW ship designs since the start?

Yes, very much so. The TIE makes zero sense whatsoever.

Star Wars is fantasy, not science. Starkiller Base’s “weapon you can see instantly from light years away” pretty much put the nail in the coffin as far as science and SW is concerned.

The event in Japan is only an hour long, so I don’t think they’re showing the entire film. (The invitation itself doesn’t specify what will be shown, just that you’re not allowed to bring recording devices.)

At the end of the movie they get the plans to something called a Death Star. I shit you not. Don’t believe me? Wait and see.

Don’t want to read too much into it….but with Dornie Yen saying he would beat darth vader if they had givrn him a lightsabre but they wouldn’t….makes you think how at least one of the Rogues meet their end
