It’s already iconic, lol. Collider Jedi Council is partially thankful for that.

Hearing a Scottish accent in Star Wars just feels wrong in some way. It grates every time I hear it, and I’m Scottish.
The Kiwi accents in the prequels were also a little hard to handle.

Initially I found the harshness of the Glaswegian accent a little jarring, but it grew on me. Ended up really liking it. Hoping there will be more Scottish actors to feature in later movies to carry on the fine lineage of McGregor, McDiarmid, Lawson, Sheard, McCrindle, and Park.

I’m a Fifer by the way.

You can hear McDiarmid’s accent slip a few times in Jedi and other films too.

I honestly thought Bala Tik was Mark Ellis from Collider Jedi Council when I first saw TFA. I was like…WHOA Mark2D2 reaaaally knew how to keep a secret from all of us.

Miscast, It’s cool that they are finally including Scot accents in the saga but this guy in no way at all in any shape, way, or form looks like a tough as nails intergalactic gangster.

That’s why it works. Those contradictions is why SW is cool.

If Jar-Jar can be a General, and Threepio a golden god, and Ewoks defeat stormtroopers, and an immobile slug can be a mob boss…then this guy can be an errand boy.

Okay, I still don’t get this – why were they trying to collect on money they loaned to Han to go capture and sell rathtars…while he was on his way to deliver and sell rathtars? I mean, wasn’t what he was in the middle of doing exactly what they had arranged with him to do?

He missed his deadline because he was looking for the Falcon. It’s not like they loaned him 50,000 and said “pay us back whenever you get around it to”.

He was actually a total of 100,000 credits in the hole. And LATE on paying either side back.
