Mark Hamill

This is NOT an April Fools piece!

This week we have another quiz post from Rian Johnson from the Episode VIII set. Some more revelations from Pablo Hidalgo, a better look at the Ahch-To huts being built at Pinewood, and more…

First here’s the latest quiz from the Episode VIII set and Rian Johnson himself:

New image was posted on Imgur giving us a better look at the Ahch-To huts, being built at Pinewood studios. As you know the same huts are also currently being built at Ceann Sibéal in Ireland, where filming is expected to begin in early May.

Some nice revelations from Pablo Hidalgo:

Mark Hamill revealing spoilers on April Fools day. 🙂

John Boyega surprised the fans at the the screening of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey in London, which we’were also lucky enough to attend. 🙂

It’s worth mentioning that during the event Boyega briefly talked about Episode VIII, praising Rian Johnson’s script and giving another confirmation that actress Kelly Marie Tran is Episode VIII’s “new lead”. This was rumored before, but now it comes from a cast member from the movie, making it more legit.

Daisy Ridley getting ready to read the Episode VIII script.

Ewan McGregor talks about the possibilities of an Obi-Wan spin-off movie:

Harrison Ford on Good Morning America:

Anthony Daniels is impressed with the stunt work on Episode VIII.

A 360 panoramic photo from the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit. This is beyond awesome!!!

And last but not least, have you joined our latest giveaway on StarWarsNewsNet.com? If not make sure you do. We have a Sphero BB-8, some Target Blu-rays, soundtrack and graphic novels for you. You can enter HERE.

Man, that’s a lot of news!

Think Pablo Hidalgo is confirming that the Force Back Knights of Ren scene was not the Jedi academy massacre. Reference to “The Clan” backs up Making SW leaking synopsis that they were attacking a village that contained Luke’s lightsaber.

yeah? and how did said lightsaber reach Maz? Also look at the scene agin, and you’ll see a building appearing in the back for a moment that looks exactly like a Jedi Temple.

Maz was at the village when it came under attack, she escaped with the lightsaber. Believe ‘The Clan’ were simply defending their village. Go read their leaked synopsis, tracks the journey of the lightsaber to Maz/Rey. Believe this scene is way closer to TFA then the jedi temple massacre.

    Ewan McGregor is the best.

John didn’t say that Kelly was “the new lead” though. Per people who were at the screening, all that happened was that John was asked what fans should should be excited about for Episode VIII and he replied that he can’t wait for the fans to seen Kelly in the film. He never mentioned anything about her being “the new lead”. The sites who originally reported on this are doing their usual sloppy click-bait headline style reporting.

Good, because I’m ok with a new sidekick, like Lando, but not a new lead. They need to build on the solid foundation that TFA started character wise

They should have gone with the Obi-Wan spinoff instead of the young Han Solo movie.

It would make for a better film since MacGregor is already accepted by even PT haters as the young version of Obi-Wan but Solo is probably more marketable character being more of a name character so I sort of get it from a strictly financial view.

Okay, hyperventilating a bit here – I’m in the middle of a studio scale 32″ Falcon build, and have just started building the cockpit. That 360 pic is awesome – does anyone know if there’s a way to save it locally?

I was hoping that they’d get rid of the EU idea of hyphenated SW planetary names but alas I guess it was not meant to be. I’m also guessing Lucasfilm wouldn’t lend Boyegea his real jacket either?

John wore his costume last week when he was visiting a children’s hospital, so no, no conspiracy there.

Right cuss what we need is another female lead who can do no wrong and kick everyones ass. Guess we know where Disney is going with this whole thing.

To be clear…TFA Rey would have kicked ANH Luke’s @$$ in a battle to the death. Let’s just be real about that for a sec…

Let’s be even more clear – she would have also kicked ESB Luke’s ass after he had trained with Yoda, repaired the Falcon’s hyperdrive while fleeing the blockade at Hoth, but totally out-flown Han through the asteroid field if not, and killed all of the stormtroopers on Cloud City. Because Rey can do everything. And has no character flaws.

That’s actually pretty funny. I think she is naive and embraces her anger in battle pretty quickly so maybe those are her weak points? I didn’t have a problem with her character…I thought Daisy Ridley was flawless. I also think it’s tough to play the strong female role and not come off as abrasive or cold…she was warm, light heared and yet so strong. Believe it or not there are a lot of women like that…minus the force (even if all women know jedi mind tricks)
