The upcoming ‘Star Wars’ standalone film, follows a band of resistance fighters who unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans. ILM’s legendary visual effects guru John Knoll (who is also the master mind behind the Rogue One story idea), recently watched a few of the incredible fan reaction videos to the ‘Rogue One’ trailer and felt he had to share them with his crew. Guess what he did with those videos next? Find out in this hilarious short video. Check it Out!
After the release of the new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer, many fans from around the world recorded and shared their reaction videos as they watched the trailer for the first time on YouTube and other social media platforms.

I’m going to post a reaction video of me watching the reaction video to the reaction videos!!!
and I’ll post my reaction to it!
I will also participate in the reaction-ception.
We seem to be living in an age of teaser trailers teasing upcoming teaser trailers and then people reacting to said teaser trailer and now people reacting to the reaction of said teaser trailer. The world has gone mad 😀
The only reaction video I ever remember enjoying was John Boyega’s reaction to The Force Awakens trailer.
“Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. YEP!!!! Go Kylo Ren!!”
*jumps over couch*
So you’re saying you missed the epic tyrone magnus reaction. The reaction of all reactions?
I didn’t miss it. I just don’t find it as epic as you. I guess I’m not into reaction videos as a thing. They are getting far too staged and they feel disingenuous.
Ugh, this is so geeky & nerdy, even for the folks over at ILM. They have so much work to do than to be taking time out of their busy schedules in making such inconspicuous videos (and no, I’m not just talking about SW-related projects that they’re busy on; ex: MCU movies).
-_-
Marsha? Is that YOU?!?
Lol, I just made the same comment above and didn’t even see yours.
I really hope you are joking. This either a stupid joke that is not funny or a flat out stupid comment.
…or it’s the rebranding + infiltration of a certain recently-ban-hammered troll we all know & love!
I have no idea whom you could be referring to.
dude go fuck yourself. you cunt. look at you’re damn pic first of all. you have no right to say this is so geeky and nerdy. damn dude pathetic. lol
I can assure you that time spent on that video is less than one hour. Besides, even VFX specialists need a break from time to time and such a reaction video is a great way to relax.
And a great motivator to raise the bar even higher in the other upcoming SW projects. Hey, we’re human – we ALL enjoy validation / positive feedback. These artists are no different, and with this being the 1st ‘out of trilogy’ SW film, there’s even more at stake here – hat’s off to ’em!
You can’t see the downvote… but it’s there! >:P
Yup. From me too
Ditto.
In all honesty, if you have an issue with “geeky and nerdy” why the hell are you here?
-_-
^^ this.
Marsha, is that you? But seriously, calm down and lighten up.
That was great. Can’t wait to see the finished effects!
It’s like realistic space light!
Someone tell Disney to setup cameras in movie theater auditoriums during screenings on premier night with the exact same intentions.
I would but I’m not sure they’d listen. !!HEY DISNEY!! 🙂
That was so awesome to watch. I’m a fan of reaction videos but the concept of this still makes me laugh XD. Can we please get people reacting to ILM’s reaction of people reacting to the Rogue One Trailer?
I was thinking the same thing, people reacting to reactions. We’ve gone down a Meta- Hall of Mirrors! 🙂
One thing you can say about this film is that outside maybe using film to shoot it, It’s as close they can possibly get to making a 70’s era SW film judging by the sets, uniforms, and lighting. I know Han Solo takes place a few years earlier but I hope it’s not as OT looking by comparison and I really hope the next spinoff takes place in a new era but that’s probably not very likely.
Remember, John Knoll pitched this movie in the first place, his idea.
Purely random: If you’re interested in a 3-chapter peek @ the 2nd Aftermath (I know, I know – rotten fruit & the stockade await me for being even a tiny bit eager to read more pre-Ep. VII tidbits from this author…), here it is – spoilers, obvs….
http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2016/04/exclusive-star-wars-bloodline-info.html
It promises some compelling wee bits, like pre-turn Ben Skywalker, pre-divorce Han + Leia – dare we hope some Snoke? I read the 3 x chapters earlier this a.m. (anything to kill these last 10 hours before Game of Thrones, I say!)
That’s a sneak peek for Bloodline, not Life Debt. It’s by Claudia Gray, not Chuck Wendig. My hopes are higher for this one than for the 2nd Aftermath.
Crikey! You’re right. MAJOR reading comp fail on my part! Me too – although it looks like we may get a tease of some tasty tidbits w/ Ben Solo falling to Snoke…
Hey I saw Marktoo Deetoo Ellis !
And I believe i saw Collider’s very own Wendy
Somebody owes the Fine Bros money for all this reacting.
Is that who started the reacting craze? I feel like I owe them a punch in the face rather than money. (naturally I’d film it and then my reaction to the punch in the face video).
Yes, and they feel as though they have the legal rights to reaction videos.
The guy gesturing at 2:27 for his friend to come over had me in tears
