New O2 Commercial Featuring C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8

PromoAfter the fantastic Verizon commercial, featuring Chewbacca and BB-8, now it’s time for O2. Another great footage not from the movie but definitely worth your time…

Again, don’t read too much into this footage. It’s just a commercial.

Sean Bean has done the O2 ads for over a decade. That’s nothing new.

so since bb8 is capable of projecting a message, likely someone will be seeing an important message for their eyes only..

I wonder if the sand feels rough and course on poor BB8

That was Tatooine sand. Jakku sand is soft and smooth.

I agree. I couldn’t help but wonder though, did they schedule in the commercial whilst in Abu Dahbi? What other adds were shot on set and who decided what they could and could not show? Lucasfilm is one hell of a big boat!

Ugh. Screenwipe spotted. I hope they’ve ditched those ugly things in the actual film.

Wipes are in all 6 SW films, are a signature element of them, and are awesome.

Funny, I never considered the wipes in regards to TFA.
      Sure they’ll be there, though.

How can you have star wars without screenwipes?! Thats like James bond without the gunbarrel schot!

I feel that screen wipes were an essential part of what won Star Wars it’s best editing Oscar. They keep the tone playful and surreal keeping the audience on the back foot. It is part of its space opera roots that a lesser sequel could ignore. I hope we have some cheesy elements in TFA to remind us of that inner child on a saturday morning.

are you fucking kidding me? lol it would not be a Star Wars movie or even feel like one if it didn’t have them..

Totally. Screen wipes are essential part in keeping the Star Wars tradition
