Wow. I’ve loved all three trailers. But that was the first time I got chills watching. Really puts everything we’ve seen into perspective.

Yeah, I thought it was great. The scenes were cut together well. My only minor nitpick would be that the way the music kept changing didn’t completely work.

Yeah, I’m not saying its a perfectly constructed trailer by any means. Although I give them credit for doing what they could with such different music over the three trailers. But its more just seeing all that footage in one place together. Somehow made it more real for me that this is less than two months away.

A bit rough around some of the splices but still pretty solid. I mean it’s three completely different trailers… so kudos for making it work at all!

Cool to see all the footage together. Still not in chronological order though. The snowy lightsaber fight was at the start, and the rest of the attack on Starkiller base is at the end. They also randomly had an explosion on Jakku at the end too. The music/sound was a mess. With 3 different trailers to mash together though, not bad.

it would of been cool if they added all the extra footage from the ESPN teasers and actually had the scenes in order.

Really down to the shifts in the music and the development of the trailer overall. For example, we see first Finn from Trailer 3 and then he is subsequently re-introduced from trailer 1. Music mish-masing together, breaking the mood…. doesn’t work. Nice idea, putting the trailers together, and kudos for the attempt, but if I want to watch all the footage together, I’ll just put on the trailers one after another, thanks.

Watching all of these together makes me realize that there is a big lack of creatures in what we’ve been shown so far. I know effects work is usually last and assume that is the reason AND I know the trailers can’t focus on everything, but I hope they aren’t just shoved in the background.

And thats what was loved by people. The music. It was edited to try and hid music cuts, stick with a version of sound or music and edit around that. The feeling of what I am watching is nothing without what I am hearing.

So many nitpickers here, to me this is the best one yet. As for chronological order, NONE of US have seen the movie yet, therefor we don’t know for sure how it’s going to be. But, as always some people think they already know how the whole movie is going to play out. And of course, then there’s those you can never please. Good job nonetheless, thanks for sharing!

It isn’t nitpicking, it is having your own opinion. You cannot nitpick something that is so obvious, this is not how the trailers are edited at all.

It’s clever what you did with the “I have it…” clause, I’m guessing you called back to OT footage to avoid redundancy with Vaderskull and Luke-hand’s repeat-showing in 3rd trailer, but it worked nicely. Though the part with Rey in the Destroyer ruins felt kind of tacked onto the end of trailer #2,
the cut-in from “The Dark Side… and the Light” to the opening of trailer 2 was nice though.

I don’t understand the mechanics of the new X-Wing engines. They have turbines for propulsion, yet the wing splits and renders them useless. I get splitting the wings in space [and using the alternate engines] due to the lack of atmosphere, but they’re flying around in the atmosphere with their turbines split in half???

    • October 23, 2015 at 11:26 pm
      Permalink

They aren’t split in half though. There are 4 turbines, they just touch. Splitting the wings is mostly for firing accuracy, allowing the X Wing to ‘zero the lasers’ (as shown by both Rogue Squadron and Lost Stars and “Lock S-Foils in attack position”).

      *Edited for punctuation.*

Look at the engine intakes. There’s no way that half-moon shape is an entire turbine. Just doesn’t make sense.

Nice work! I re-watched ALL the teaser/theatrical trailers and the ONLY two characters that don’t appear in them before they debut are Yoda and The Emperor who were the two most pivotal ones in OT. I’m thinking that’s the same reason we have not seen Maz or Snoak yet and maybe Von Sydow as well.

If you look closely at the trailer scene where Kylo appears with a group of men in the rain, It looks like they are bounty hunters or mercenaries. Knights of Ren could be a group of bounty hunters!! They all have different weapons.

    • October 24, 2015 at 4:42 pm
      Permalink

I have to say I’m curious how the Knights who say Ren will play out onscreen
The whole always 2 there are BS kind of put too tight a leash on the cinematic possibilities of the dark side – and it would appear JJ and KK agree with me.
Don’t get me wrong, Vader and Sidious were really cool as a sort of master-apprentice thing and it worked out well with the characters, but it didn’t need to be a dead-set rule that ALL sith have to follow.

Some villains are better in groups. Darth Maul, for instance, might have been much cooler if he had a quasi-sith entourage for him to look cooler than – – like how cool Boba Fett looked next to Jabba’s bozos.
Having a Sith group of more than 1+1 would put a more wolf-pack spin on things, somewhere between an occult group and the Mafia. The one big-cheese that’s the real deal, surrounded by other, lesser supporters who mooch off of their legitness.

Or maybe it’s not actually a “turbine”‘ since that’s a human technological concept. But hey sure do have the appearance of fanlike intakes. If it’s all one engine w/ red exhaust, that makes much more since. I think they’re just trying too hard to make it look like the old concept art, sans engineering logic [which is probably why they abandoned that design for the original films.]

The mixing of all the trailers does give more of a ‘feel’ for story than the recent official one. Though I still don’t have much of an idea of the story past the usual bad-guys are doing this and the good-guys try to stop them. Which means well done on all the plugging of those leaks.

in my opinion, the movie is going to begin with the First Order transporters landing on Jakku (teaser 1), and taking possession of a village (final trailer). Then, Kylo Ren arrives (final trailer); he talks with Phasma and then he makes a massacre of the innocent inhabitants of the village (final trailer and teaser 2), just to know where is what he’s searching for. He doesn’t find anything, and he orders the troops to kill everyone and to get back in the Finalizer (teaser 2). But one of the stormtroopers is Finn, and he is visibly shocked by the slaughter. His helmet is also bloodstained (teaser 2 and final trailer). In the ship, he steal a TIE fighter from the hangar (teaser 2) and run away. Then, the Finalizer hits him (final trailer), and then he crashes on Jakku, unarmed and alone (teaser 1 and final trailer). At this point, Rey is introduced, and we begin to follow her on the desert planet 🙂

I agree with all of this but i believe snoke will give the speech we see in the first teaser to kylo. Then from what we heard from the toys “I felt it to’ then snoke will send kylo and captain Phasma to jacuu. They would be looking for snokes staff which the scavenger(Rey) has.

Why do people keep sayng that Han won’t survive Episode VII when Harrison Ford is confirmed to reprise his role in Epiosde VIII ? Adam Driver is not listed yet though as part of Episode VIII, so maybe it’s Kylo Ren who doesn’t survive. If that is the case. Kylo probably won’t be related to the Skywalker blood line either.

That’s right, you can add Cast and Crew by logging in.

After logging in you’ll get a form to add a cast member. You could add Miss Piggy or possibly even Elvis to the SW8 cast. The only verification seems to be the following text: “By the action of sending information to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) via this form, you declare that the submitted data is correct to the best of your knowledge, not copyrighted by a third party and you hereby give the IMDb permission to use it.”

These kind of amateur montages or mixtures are not ok… are the point of view of the maker, and always a bad thing, distorting the true intention of the true film maker. Is MUCH better to see each trailer separately.

Using this group allowed the Sith Lord to have force using minions but not violate the rule of two.The precursor could be the Red Blades of Rebels. From Aftermath.we learn that a sizable part of the Empire leaves the galaxy to regroup on a Dark force planet. I believe there is where the First Order was formed along with the Knights of Ren,

Is the scene with Luke and R2 really a flashback? If so will we get an explanation on how Luke lost his hand again?
I think this is strange. Somehow he loses his hand and he doesn’t get a proper one with skin again? Over all those years?
For me it looks more like Luke is following Kylo Ren and he arrives on Jakku right after the First Order torched the village…

    • October 26, 2015 at 8:14 pm

Probably the only reason why he doesn’t have skin on that hand is that the film makers probably want to make it super clear that this was someone with a prosthetic hand aka Luke.
