I’m super excited for any potential space dogfights happening in the actual movie. So far, all of the fighter action has been atmospheric thus far.

I saw a report that said that there was going to be a space battle. It’s one of the more recent articles on this site, I believe.

in the latest TV trailers you can see that Poe is in Space when he says something like “hold on, we’re going in” you can see a planet with atmosphere below him and TIE’s in space, so no.. your statement that all action has been atmospheric is incorrect, you’ve just been led to believe so based on editing.

I also am excited to see some atmospheric combat as well. This is something we haven’t really seen anything like, with the exception of the battle on Hoth.

People are freaking out over the over-commercialization. I, for one, don’t mind it. I mean, what did you expect?

We knew it was coming. People even myself were wishing for more over the summer, but this is why I knew they wouldn’t.

That few seconds of dogfighting felt more “Star Wars” than all 6+ hours of the prequels. Well done.

Because that was nothing like the opening to Revenge of the Sith… Just because you didn’t like them, doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.

Because they were both space battles? Star Trek has space battles but it doesn’t FEEL like Star Wars and neither did the prequels.

Because you perceive it differently than I do. I’m not saying I’m right and your wrong. I’m just saying that reminded me more of RotS than any other Star Wars movie. You could have just said you really enjoyed the dogfight. You had to go and make a unnecessary dig at the prequel. I feel sorry for your brain deficiency.

Let me get this straight. I make an observation and a comparison which really wasn’t much of a dig unless you’re over sensitive to criticism of the prequels. Then you chastise me for being negative and making digs. Then you insult me in the very next sentence.

There were X-Wings and Tie Fighters shooting at each other around a Star Destroyer. That felt more like ROTJ than ROTS for me.

You didn’t say it felt more like RotJ, you said it felt more like Star Wars than the prequels. Just saying, your original comment was intended as a troll comment. You should feel insulted, you deserve it.

I’m sorry but the space battle above Naboo, even though short, totally felt like Star Wars .
I agree that the battle in ROTS didn’t feel like it though.

You mean where the kid ran into the donut knocking down droids and skidding to a stop in the middle of the ship?

Heh. Ok, I admit that was a cheap shot.

It is great to see a dogfight between Poe’s X wing and the improved TIE fighter in space.

Factual error: there is no attrition in space, so BB-8’s antenna should not be bended (0:10).
I hope it’s just a thing on this commercial and not on the actual movie. We see this happen in Takodana in the trailers, which makes sense, since there’s an atmosphere there.

You should also not be able to hear explosions in space but yea…

Since midi-chlorians! Can’t be more scientific than midi-chlorians!

This made me laugh. I’m glad they didn’t go for the lame “oh look a jeep in space” route I was expecting.

Planet Wasn’t Starkiller Base/Illum. Did look a lot like Jakku – arid, desert-like. If this is an actual scene from the film (sans jeep plug), consider me sold. Doesn’t look overly CGI saturated and seems a bit more… Like “the old days.”

I’m also wondering if the film opens up this way – black squadron intercepted by FO, kinda buying time for Poe to escape/leave after meeting with Lor San Tekka.

We all know he doesn’t… I’m really excited though. Give us the film NAW!!!

Nice to see how BB fits into the cockpit and technically seeing as how it happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away they would be able to see it from their Jeep with a powerful enough telescope.
