    Hey guys,

I just wanna say thank you. I come from somewhere where loving Star Wars isn’t a legitimate thing to do. Still I follow you every day, cause SW fills me with love and understanding. Thank you for covering it. For some reason this fictional world means more than everyone can imagin!

ZW its very sad to hear this from a human rights perspective. I`m involved with some advocacy work myself and free speech.

Its hard to believe someone could face execution in the 21st century for simply liking a popular science fiction film such as star wars.

Its hard to believe that someone could be threatened like this in the 21st century.

It would be interesting to know from you which of the following you were threatened with ? I document abuses myself for NGO organization.

      – Blowing from a gun
      – Blood eagle
      – Buried alive
      – Burning
      – Crucifixion
      – Breaking wheel
      – Cooking alive

I just had a thought about Episode 8 filming… if the old trio comes back for 8, or if one of them dies in VII… wouldn’t we know about it when filming starts? If the cast were to all appear in London around the same time or if one of them was missing it could be spoiler-ish for VII as the filming will be finished prior to VII’s release?

I’m sure they’ll keep those juicy details tightly guarded until after TFA releases. They’ll probably wait until January before they begin shooting VIII.

I thought filming for 8 was supposed to start this fall? It would be real hard to keep everything under wraps if actors are spending time in London is what I’m thinking.

I heard a rumor that Han Solo is gonna die in episode 7. I think it’s gonna happen though cuz I read that he’s gonna die and the news came from the director himself. How sad.

The news around here is slowing down when you would think it would speed up, as we are getting closer to the release date.

And where, oh where, is Rogue One? No casting, no filming, no nothing.

I think a lot of Star Wars fans pretend Jake Lloyd didn’t happen.

I never understood why Jake Lloyd is AS hated as he is.
Sure he’s a whiny 90’s American Kid, but in the more “serious” scenes he’s not that bad.

Allow me to bring up another reviled character: Jar Jar.

Well get this – Anakin hates Jar Jar TOO.

remember that AWFUL scene where Anakin’s hitting on Padme like a pro, meanwhile Jar Jar is bumbling around getting beat up by a 2-foot-tall droid [the makings for an awesome parody if there ever was one],

there’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment where Anakin gives Jar Jar a really dark, disdainful look, like a “WTF is this loser doing in my shop?” look.
Now that’s the Vader I know.
The kid exhibits all the signs of being a bratty entitled american kid, BUT SO DID LUKE.
When Luke’s first introduced, he’s treads just short of outright whining about power-converters, Luke also plays with toy-spaceships like a kid,

and when he meets Obi-wan, he does a pretty bang-on impersonation of pre-Matrix Keanu Reeves.
Luke came across more like a future surfer than he did a war-winning religion-learning machine.

In my mind, Jake Lloyd had a rough start, granted, but I think if he was kept on for the next 2 films, he would have improved [similar to how Luke improved between ANH and TESB].
Jake Lloyd may have done a way better or at least more believable Anakin than Hayden Christensen did.

Another thing to bear in mind is that Anakin’s whininess is at least half LUCAS’ FAULT.
That’s the nature of directing, the director is responsible for the actor’s performance. ESPECIALLY with child-actors.
After all, Jake Lloyd did not write the line “are you an angel?”, Lucas did.

All this considered, I got nothing against Jake Lloyd.

^ I completely disregarded your comment as soon as I realize it was yet another “hate jar jar and blame it on george lucas” comments.

Well then you miss my point. Entirely.

The Director is responsible for the performance of actors.
Diane Keaton’s acting was in some scenes sub-par in Godfather. This is both Diane and FF Coppola’s fault. This does not mean I dislike Diane Keaton, or Coppola, I respect both of them. That has nothing to do with the fact that the scenes He directed Her in were a little worse than, say, Al Pacino’s acting.
It’s part of the game, I still love Diane in Family Stone, and I still like Godfather.

Which brings me to George Lucas.
George Lucas has directed some of the best scenes in cinema. Leia’s Rescue in the Death Star – and – that guy from American Graffiti meeting “the Wolf” are IMO two of the best scenes of any movie I’ve had the pleasure to watch.
George, as most directors do, also made some pretty stupid scenes, I’m not calling it out for the sake of it, and I’m damn well not going to “turn a blind eye” for the sake of sparing your feelings.

As for pulling out Jar Jar, this is merely to appease my opinion to the opinion of the actual person whom I was original replying to. It’s called diplomacy.

It is subjectively sound to say that Jake Lloyd is better than Jar Jar, is it not?

Furthermore, George Lucas had approx. 400 chances to tell Jake to tone down his vocal pitch [stop whining].
That’s not bashing, that’s called basic knowledge of what the job “director” entails.

Jake Lloyd is a douchebag….he is even more whiney in real life. He blames george Lucas for ruining his childhood because Episode1 sucked…the guy should be blaming his parents . I met him at a convention and he was a total asshole, he was a smart ass and wouldnt answer anyones questions and made everyone who came up to him feel like shit. He was only there to collect his 20 bucks for a pic and autograph. He even glared at my niece (who was 8) when she tried talking to him as he signed her pic. That guy is a supreme Jackass, little spoiled momma’s boy.Kids would get excited when they walked passed him in school and they would make lightsaber sounds at him…(WOULDNT YOU HAVE DONE THAT WHEN YOU WERE 8 AND WALKED PASSED ANAKIN SKYWALKER IN THE HALLWAY?)..he actually took offense to this and thought they were making fun of him and based the rest of his life off of that experience and became the new Leaf Garrett…LOL friggin moron

the sad thing is, that even had he been killed or badly injured people would still be making the exact same jokes, albeit with “too soon?” snidely tacked on at the end. it’s not Lloyd’s fault that Lucas can’t direct kids. it’s not easy to communicate esoteric ideas to adults sometimes, and with kids it’s magnified. not being able to yield a good child performance on film is as much of a technical problem as anything else. try getting a kid to sit still for a portrait photo and you realise it’s luck as much as rapport etc. things were made worse by miscasting. if you look at the dvd you’ll see some of the other actors considered could have knocked it out of the park, but you have that Salacious Crumb figure of Rick McGollum messing with Lucas’ sense of what’s working and what’s not. when the dust settles years from now and people start to analyse all of the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle GL had layed out and cobbled together as best he could, we may discover he really could have been a contender with the PT. maybe he just needed more time or less money. I suspect it is actually RMcC who is responsible for much of the asshattery attributed to King George. the end.

I just want to say…if at Comic Con and we do get a trailer where Daisy Ridley speaks…and she either has her English accent or has an American one…can tell us a lot about how her parentage and how she was raised. (either with her family or without)

I am receiving Star Wars news 7 daily! GOOD JOB! I may not want to read too much to spoil a potentially great extension to the classic trilogy (1977-1983) in 12/18/2015, despite introducing us to more Star Wars characters. I just wish there was a weekly Star Wars edition like half hour news on TV soon. I mean everyone not into Star Wars are still interested in Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford news if not Mark Hammil also!

I think I worked out the big overarching plot of the sequel trilogy. “snoke” is this mysterious figure that emerged from the shadows somewhere between ROTJ and TFA. i believe we will discover that he is some product of the dark forces within Luke himself, kinda like the Luuke clone idea, only this figure is all of luke’s nightmares made manifest. thus the motion capture aspect of filming. i think ‘snuke’ might have started coming to the surface when han or his own kids were thought to be captured or killed. luke disappeared at this same point. while we later learn he was imprisoned by ‘Snooke’ and they bust him out, what they are also letting loose upon the galaxy is actually two lukes. think Bob/Agent Cooper. the evil part of his personality is the Luuke/Snoke spirit. the whole premise will be either him sacrificing himself for the good of the galaxy or finding the good aspects of the OT luke live on in the next generation, or both. the end.
