Too bad the play button icon is covering Slave Leia’s boobs. You can even see Salacious and that dude laughing about it.

Surely there were better celebrities that could have attended this, instead it was a bunch of z listers from some god awful Essex show…..”Never seen Star Wars mate, innit, well i ave now innit, in like real life” Would have been more enjoyable watching a bowl of plankton float around than this tool. Anyway exhibition looks amazing

Leia’s such a strong and progressive female character, not just for Star Wars but in general.

Why is her “big iconic moment” always where she’s casually lying down at Jabba’s feet in a degrading sex slave costume she was forced to wear? Why not make her iconic moment where she’s wearing her buns and white dress as she aims her blaster? Or at least when she’s in the sex slave costume BUT IS CHOKING THE LIVING HELL OUT OF HER ABUSIVE OPPRESSOR?

    And where’s Padme?

I never saw her as strong or progressive, just a good actor like everyone else – male and female.

Nobody “forced” her to wear anything. Any actor or actress can simply quit and do something else if it bothers them that much. It obviously wasn’t “degrading” either.
Yet, you are perfectly fine with her killing another character.
It’s a FANTASY movie, quit crying like a little brat.

I’m talking about Jabba the Hutt capturing and forcing Leia to wear the sex slave outfit, not Carrie Fisher the actress. Learn to pay attention.

However, you feel about her, Princess Leia certainly broke ground by not being your typical damsel in distress.

She never shied away from the blaster. She also faced down Vader and Tarkin, endured torture and suffering to protect the Rebellion, played an active role in leading them from the start of the series (unlike Luke and Han), went on dangerous missions throughout the trilogy and killed Jabba the Hutt herself.

However, she’s typically portrayed sexing it up in her slave outfit. -_- She deserves better than that.

I never found the whole slave leia thing interesting personally [and this is coming from a straight guy].
IDK- she looks all right, but, you know, SEX SLAVE isn’t really my deal, there are other women who wear a bikini-thing better,

For me, Leia was always different because she actually comes across like a real leader.
She isn’t just some random damsel in distress, she isn’t the stereotypical “tough girl”, she’s just… Leia, leia is someone who can punch you square in the face and look classy in the process, now THAT’S HOT,

That’s the thing about REAL people, is that they almost NEVER match any one stereotype, every single person you come across is bound to have SOMETHING about them that breaks the mold.
In most films, they rest on easy stereotypes,
I think the thing that sets Star Wars apart is that Luke and Han and Leia ARE NOT based on stereotypes.
Luke is based on George Lucas, Han is based on FF Coppola. I suspect that Leia is in part based off of Lucas’ wive at the time, but I can’t back that up, my point is, he was focused on getting characters that are PEOPLE. NOT PLOT-POINTS.
That’s why IMO the Death Star sequence in ANH is still THE best sequence of any Star Wars film to date.

THAT is what I remember Leia for. NOT the [spoiler!] revelation that she has a nice mid-drift.
As far as Leia-scenes go, I also like the scene when she first meets Wicket, shoot me, it’s a good scene.

Iron bikini? meh, ANYONE can do that…
Look, I get that she was like probably your first movie-crush, whatever, get over it.

The problem with all this ‘powerful woman’ crud is that it is politically correct b/s, and will ultimately lead to this:
    – Oh no, Han Solo has a gun, that means he intends to kill. Give him a flower instead.
    – Oh no! Star WARS. Wars are terrible, change the name to Star Women, Star Chipmunks, Star Efeminite Man (or such like).
    – Oh no, The Force? Slave 1? DEATH Star, etc
    Well, you get the idea.

For our American cousins: the majority of the riff raff being interviewed are from a shameful reality TV Series here in the UK called ‘The Only way is Essex’ the cast of which are essentially a bunch of inbred pikeys(trailer trash) with a collective IQ of 10. They don’t speak English sadly, they talk ‘Chav’ which is a method of talking for people with learning difficulties.

And this commenter is why the uk has class wars. why cant you just let them have fun and not worry about how they speak? yes joey essex is an idiot, hes also a nice person. are they chavs? no. not unless youre definition of chav is anyone who doesnt live in chelsea or listen to mosh music

That ‘VIP’ clip is embarrassing. “I never seen Star Wars before” and “Princess Leyla”. It really undersells the attraction.

I think people saying ” I never seen star wars before” should not be included in star wars projects and events. they dont deserve it.
