I would love to attend one of these events some day, but part of me is terrified that the audience will bear some resemblance to a blizzcon audience. And I will have the unfortunate luck of being seated directly in the middle unable to get out, surrounded. Many a night have I woken suddenly in a cold panting sweat dreaming of such a scenario.

If its nothing like a blizzcon audience inside it would just be pure heaven on earth.

What was wrong with the Blizzcon audience just out of curiosity? I will be attending Star Wars Celebration VII and have never been before and my biggest fear is that a lot of the attendees will be rude. I’m sure I won’t have any problems but still would just like to know.

It sounds more like he has claustrophobia, rather than there being anything wrong with the crowd.

My fear was about access to facilities, maybe I worded it wrong. Using the blizzcon audience as a base example of a typical convention audience. I was just thinking what anyone could do, if they were sat directly in the middle of a massive audience at a convention/concert/festival or anything like that, and they needed the toilet desperately. But you were blocked in, and you can`t stand up and walk past people. The re-occurring nightmare was about a trouser accident in such a scenario. Maybe some good can come out of it, and remind people to plan their ticket allocations carefully in the future.

What would you do in such a situation ? its physically impossible to clench and hold it in for three hours.

I can tell you, as someone who’s going to his third consecutive Celebration, that from my experience, the fans are the opposite of rude. I have had a TON of incredible conversations with people I didn’t know – just riffing about Star Wars. It’s incredible.

I also ate lunch with Ben Burtt – so that didn’t suck! (True story. He was walking around the food court, and the tables were full – I ran into him and introduced myself, and he asked if he could sit at our table. Incredible experience.)

7/10 moments for me. I only missed the Europe cons and CVI. Was at the first fan film awards, waited all night to see Lucas at CIII, and against for CV, and was in the room when they first showed Clone Wars footage. A con friend- michelle, was the first to get a Clone Wars autograph, I was #2. and yes, I was at Celebration I and got to meet Anthony Daniels as he worked the crowd.
