UPDATE 3! New Battlefront Footage at Star Wars Celebration! Pre-Ordering Available Soon. Trailer Details Revealed.

BattlefrontElectronic Arts has been confirmed as one of the exhibitors at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim (April 16-19). Recently the game company showed a brand new trailer featuring new footage at The Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. Is it possible that we might see another great reveal at C7, apart from the rumored The Force Awakens footage?

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim is definitely set to become one of the biggest Star Wars events that’s ever happened. Nearly every big name from the galaxy far, far away will be in attendance.

All Star Wars fans are expecting to see new footage from J.J. Abrams’ highly anticipated movie and with him personally attending the event together with Kathleen Kennedy, that’s most likely going to be the case.

Now, what if we could actually witness another big reveal at the event. Would it be too much to expect?

Just a few days ago, the company behind Star Wars Battlefront, Electronic Arts, had been added to the list of exhibitors attending Celebration.

Celebration

The biggest question is, what could they possibly exhibit? I think the best guess would be the secret new trailer that EA showed at The Game Developers Conference (GDC), which ran from March 2-6 in San Francisco.

The GDC serves as an annual forum for members of the games industry to exchange ideas, discuss issues, and also features game demos. The Battlefront footage shown at GDC was very well received by the audience and even EA COO Peter Moore took to Twitter to spread the word.

Immediately after the screening of the trailer (which included new footage), rumors began to spread that the trailer would probably leak soon – and if not, that it will be getting a public airing sometime in the near future. Actually, there are only two possibilities as to when the Battlefront footage could be revealed.

If you remember back in January in an interview with IGN, Star Wars Battlefront Design Director Niklas Fegraeus, gave us a hint about when we could expect to see new footage from the game:

“We’ve been showing the game to some close partners and one of the things we hear is that it doesn’t feel like other shooters and that it’s fully born from Star Wars. That really strikes a chord with me and the team as that is exactly the emotion and feeling we are going for and we can’t wait to show the world more this spring.”

Celebration 2015

There are two major events happening this spring – Celebration (April 16-19) and E3 (June 16-18). Which one will it be? My personal bet is on Celebration. They already have the footage and I don’t see any reason why they should sit on it for another 3 months.

Again, April 16 can’t come quick enough. 33 days until Celebration!

UPDATE 2!

It’s been another pretty quiet day on the Star Wars news front, but Electronic Arts has mentioned that new details on the game, along with the pre-order date, will be made available shortly before Celebration.

Only 18 days to go until Celebration begins!

UPDATE 3!

Electronic Arts revealed more details about their panel at Celebration:

It has been hard to keep these secrets from the community, but we’re excited to announce that we will be hosting a panel at Celebration on April 17th, kicking off at 10:30AM PT, where we will debut the official reveal trailer for Star Wars Battlefront. Make sure to get to the show early to secure your seat. But that is not all… All attendees will have a chance to see gameplay behind closed doors during the show at our official booth along with a few other activities starting that Friday.

Not going to the show? We know fans of Star Wars Battlefront span the entire globe, so we definitely do not want to leave you out in the cold without a tauntaun. That would be typical and so like Disney to show video game footage and then No Star Wars ViI trailer or news.

With J. J. Abrams *and* Kathleen Kennedy at the opening presentation? It would be foolish to think they aren’t going to show footage of Episode VII there.

Yeah I think they’ll do both… if they don’t show Star Wars footage then I hope they at least show some screen grabs 🙂 I’d be thrilled to see the big 3 promo shot at the least.

wasn’t alan horn at last year’s event and didn’t he get boo’ed off the stage for a star wars fanfare and then NOTHING?

I could be wrong, but that’s what I recall.

Wow goes to show I failed at paying attention during GDC. Didn’t realize they had a trailer! I 100% agree with you it’ll be at the celebration unless it comes out sooner.

Had there been nothing I would have bet E3. Since it’s already aired though… it wont be long now!

No reason to sit on it at all. Celebration can’t come soon enough for me! I’m already planning to buy a new gaming rig just to play it on ultra.

I`m hoping to see some clues and leads anywhere about possible new factions they might introduce in the new sequel trilogy. Maybe someone will give some clues or it will be included as canon in new games on show. Maybe a fan question panel might bring some answers. I`ve always thought that the star wars universe is too big for just 2 factions. Empire and Republic. I`m not talking about territory controlled by a single species, I`m thinking of organizations.

Back in the prequel trilogy there was the Trade federation, techno union?, banking clan, separatists etc. Maybe mining guild ? Then it went to just two again.

I think there`s a good chance we will get some new organizations. In the vacuum after ROTJ maybe new factions had a chance to rise up and declare themselves and carve out and claim their territory. They could even join up with Empire or republic.

You’re missing the point. It doesn’t have to be just the Empire and Rebels anymore! xD

I don’t really care about the games or comic books. I would really like some news about Star Wars VII, the movie everybody seems to be talking about the most this year.

If you don’t care then don’t read the article. And don’t expect to see Episode VII news everyday. They don’t make the news, they report it.

I find news about the movie and this game to be the absolute most important news. Books and comics are way down on the list of things I care about. That said I still find all of it interesting to some degree… so I don’t mind any SW news.

Well, since E3 3 is the biggest game expo, EA might want to keep the gameplay/trailer of the new Battlefront untill June. They might show us some screenshots/wallpapers of the game at the SW celebration, but nothing more i’m afraid.

They might also talk (at E3) about the new Open-World star wars game which is being developed by Visceral Games.

They should have a Republic and Empire but have various regional and small kingdoms and republics confederations and alliances. The galaxy is similar to after the fall of the Roman Empire.

I have been told by a source from EA at GDC that a plus minus 5 minute long trailer will be unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration event. They have like a little theater there. The game will be playable at E3.

I posted this already at battlefront3.com, like a week before this news came out: http://battlefront3.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1907

ITS A TRAP…err- I mean misdirection. The more they hype up and distract people with other stuff the less people expect footage or trailers so minds will be slightly more blown. I don’t know if we will see a BRAND NEW trailer, but there will 100% no doubt be at least some new footage along with what we have already seen

Why all of this “behind closed doors” bullshit?!?
How is showing gameplay to everyone result in less money for EA? And it has NOTHING to do with “building anticipation”, either.
The want for this game is already as high as it’s gonna get.
Any more obfuscatory nonsense can, and WILL,
