The title isn’t the only thing that’s unique about this ROTJ teaser trailer. What other differences do you spot? http://t.co/rowZXVsJM1

How I know I couldn’t be a Jedi? Because when they say patience… I lose all of it!! Still though… it was fun watching the old ones. Can’t wait to see the third.

The rumors and ideas for the title of part 7 i have heard are these…………. The Hidden Circle , The Fallen Hero , A New Age , A New Dawn , Rise of the Sith , A New Order , Knights of a New Dawn , Knights on the Rise, Kings of the Dark , A New Aprentice , Dark Jedi Rises , Darkness in the Myst , and of course probably a million more titles but i aint got time to search for that yak…lol…

As I said before all these titles are simply ridiculous…. The new film should be named “The New Republic”. Simple.

ahhh excuse mr Anonymous at 9:43 am….. you cant call the title The New Republic… and the reason why is because after part 6, 30 years of peace under Lukes new jedi order is the new republic. This new trilogy will be about the return and last chance for the sith to end the jedi and rule all galaxy once and for all. This is about the current 30 year peace age turning to a new age. So this new trilogy will be the new age after the new republic has already happened. We are in a new dawn. get the point ?…. if they did a TV series about that 30 years of peace after return of the Jedi, then you could call it The New Republic…..

And there it is. Another teaser. The only thing I did notice though… those teasers had a ton of footage from a nearly done version of the originals. I don’t think we will be remotely lucky enough to have anything near that quality for Episode 7…

I mean filming hasn’t even started yet.

I agree about there not being any footage for a trailer since filming has not started. However, remember the first teaser to the Star Trek reboot…there was no footage from the film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=–vmdNTPTHs

Blue lightsaber instead of green? That’s the only other difference as far as I can see. I thought the Revenge of the Jedi original opening was supposed to be Luke constructing his green saber outside of Jabba’s palace?

They hadn’t finished effects when teaser was released (check out Obi-Wan). They changed the color of the light saber to green during post.

George originally had that scene, but thought it wanted the lightsaber reveal to be more triumphant later on, but I wouldn’t have minded, I thought it was cool 🙂 and I believe he changed the blade color to green in post because of better contrast in certain sets

Luke probably couldn’t find blue crystal for his lightsaber on ebay! LOL But I don’t mind green lightsabers, as long as there are other colour sabers appearing on the screen at the same time. We need some more colours. I hope they have orange, yellow, turquoise, pink, etc etc in the ST. Those lightsaber companies made custom sabers in more colours than what we saw in the movies.

What concerns me is next week may not be episode 7 but rather episode 1. There may be another 4 weeks before we know something. Or they could go episodes 1,2,3, and then “The Clone Wars” Movie… We may know something on Oct 30th. or it could be Nov, 20 or 27. Now we have to wait and see what Disney and Lucas decides to do… Oh well.

Hey, you have a point there. Disney may be going in chronological order, which means we will see Phantom Menace’s trailer next Wednesday, then II, then III.

Either way, it seems like Lucasfilm is building up to something grand. And a fan of the prequels, I really enjoyed the teaser trailers to those as well…

We’ll just have to be patient.

I’m 95% expecting Mark, Carrie and Harrison to be confirmed on Wednesday, and possibly even a basic outline of the story. I would love a video with the three of them in together, I would probably have an internal breakdown of emotion. Other then that, I don’t know what else they could possibly announce. Unless the main casting is already done, if so then I’d love to know who’s cast for the main roles, but I presume casting is still under way. Who knows.

The reason why we are expecting a SW7 teaser next wednesday is because it will be the 1st anniversary of Disney annoucing the new trilogy. It’s not just a question of “after 6 comes 7” : it’s a landmark too. Releasing SW1 teaser would just not make sense at all…

So next week, SW7 or nothing !

I think we could also be looking at a horde of mis-information. Remember episode II was leaked on to the internet a week before it’s official release. This really PO’ed George Lucas. So they are keeping everything really close to the chest and looking for anyone that may be trying to leak something. It’s also possible the photo of the 3 scripts we saw a while back my be the only 3 full scripts that exist. Most of the actors do not even see the full scripts to these movies. Only the scenes where they need to know. I suspect they have been in pre-production and 2nd unit filming for a while now. I find it hard to believe they can have the movie ready by the release date otherwise.

Honestly, it doesn’t take long to film a movie. Average films that are roughly 2 hours only takes 4 months of actual filming, the rest of time is post production so, if they start filming in Jan or feb as scheduled they will be done around may or june of 2014 leaving them 11 or so months of post-production work which is PLENTY of time. They are WELL within the window of a May 2015 release, I don’t understand why people think they cant do it? they’re right on schedule if not ahead. The first time we heard about a casting call that was roughly 2-3 months ago? If they were already releasing casting calls in the UK AND in New York 2-3 months ago then that means the story is complete, Characters defined, the script is printed (with little changes all the way until filming is done) almost done scouting for film locations if not already done, sets are already being constructed ahead of shooting, main character casting about done if not already. Im sure they’re just fine.

Remember Cheryl this is not Lucasfilm and FOX anymore. THis is Disny, they are pretty much the masters in filmaking and marketing. They know what they are doing. I always expect them to deliver the promised goodies!

Well I hope it’s at least the title, I can’t wait to see. But from what I have been reading since they announced they were going to do episode VII, I think they will have a small announcement of the original cast. I don’t know if they have begun shooting so I would imagine that there won’t be much of a trailer. The only thing I know is that I am happy to be a Star Wars fan and have so much fun speculating. May 2015 can’t come soon enough

I reckon it’s the teaser..I reckon it’ll be a robed figure emerging from the Tatooine desert..and I reckon the figure will lower the hood of its cloak and reveal itself to be Luke Skywalker!!

I pretty much expect something of the sorts. But not Tatooine. I expect to see the Jedi Academy, not as a whole, just a corridor or a training room.

In fact, just Mark Hammil talking saying random stuff would be enough for a serious nerdgasm from my part.

I also expect to see a modifed just for the occassion Disney logo.

If it is indeed an Episode VII announcement, it will probably be a 5-10 second clip of the main SW logo with the title or something… I would put all my money on absolutely no footage as they haven’t started filming. I also don’t know how they went from going behind schedule, to somehow going ahead of schedule, to Spring/Summer 2015, when the script isn’t finished, and the original cast has absolutely no idea what’s going on at camp Disney… I figured we’d have a delay into 2016, but we’ll find out soon enough…

“Conflicted about dropping it” = “I don’t want to be proven wrong”

I agree with you all the way up until the part where you say they are behind schedule. I don’t know why people think this is the case. There has been nothing to prove, confirm or official about a december or 2016 release. Disney/Lucasfilm have told us from the start, spring/summer 2015 and have continued to tell us that since the announcement last year. They even re-re-reconfirmed this earlier this month. Why believe anyone else other than Disney/Lucasfilm just because there hasn’t been any news? The only conclusion I can come to as to why people think they’re behind schedule is because there hasn’t been any announcements. So what? that doesn’t meant anything. We all know who is directing this and how he and his team works. I mean, look back at the post on this site about the history of announcements, that post alone should tell us something. Almost every rumor was wrong, WAY wrong. We’re all almost there about hearing some announcement of some kind. I believe they’re right on schedule if not ahead. People just need to relax a bit.

    • October 23, 2013 at 11:42 pm
      Permalink

Only reason I say that is not from lack of announcements, but rather specifically from the original trilogy actors lack of knowledge about the production. I know it’s only one aspect of it, but unless they are very good at misleading people, you would think they wouldn’t be as left in the dark about the project as they appear… Most recently with Billy Williams just saying they haven’t asked him… Either he was never intended to be in the script, or I would say that the writers themselves just have no idea who they want in the movie at this point… You would think they would at least go up to some of these actors and say “hey, would you want to be a part of it if we need you?” But apparently they haven’t even done that… Makes me think that the script is still far from complete… I’m sure they already know for sure certain set pieces they absolutely need regardless of who is in or out, but if they plan to begin filming in January, you’d think that yes, there would be some major announcements by now. More than what we already know, even though we don’t “officially” know shit, practically…

haha yeah I hope you’re right and they pop something on us! The only thing I can say about what you said is that if they original cast or anyone from the original cast is in it and being asked about it, they wont say anything and play coy making up stuff such as “I don’t know” or “I think they’re still writing it” because they’re not allowed to because of contract and non disclosure agreements and don’t want to give anything away until Disney/Lucasfilm actually announces it or they say its ok ya know? I mean think about it, the perfect thing to do to fans and everyone is give them an answer that will cause the most stir, such as “still writing” or something like that to keep people guessing.
