What the October 30 Announcement Could be About?

episode 7

10 days ago we started the speculation that an Episode 7 viral campaign had just kicked in. Also we predicted that in 3 consecutive Wednesdays we’ll be getting teasers leading to some kind of an Episode 7 announcement on October 30. Now many other sites are also reporting the same thing and the only question that remains is what the announcement will be about…

If we’re right and indeed there will be an announcement on October 30 then it should be about one of the following:

– some kind of announcement teaser trailer

So far we have two rumors about this. One was about a teaser trailer featuring Mark Hamill as Luke and the other was that there might be a teaser trailer which will be similar to the Star Wars Rebels teaser and it won’t have any live action scenes in it.

Now considering that StarWars.com have released the teaser trailers about all the movies from the original trilogy I won’t be surprised if they do something similar to The Revenge of the Sith teaser.

Of course they didn’t start filming yet but some narrated scenes from the original trilogy leading to a shot where we see Mark Hamill as a Master Jedi is not impossible. Actually I’m ready to bet some money on it. 🙂

– cast announcement

A member from TheForce.net forums posted an interesting image. It is the last page of the 2013 Star Wars Insider: Special Edition Magazine. The page features a summary of what to expect from the next issue, which will be released one week after October 30. One particular article is very interesting – new interviews with “The Big Three: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford”. I doubt that this is just a coincidence. Maybe they will discuss their already announced involvement with Episode 7? Maybe…

Also remember what George Lucas said months ago when asked whether members of the original Star Wars cast will appear in Episode VII:

“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’ Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them.”

So what if that “big whoop-de-do” is exactly the one year anniversary on October 30. The day when Disney bought Lucasfilm and announced the new trilogy? Could be.

– title and release date reveal

Considering how late the titles for the previous movies have been released I doubt that they will do that now. Also I doubt they will release a specific date. If they do release something I guess it will be just Star Wars: Episode 7, Summer 2015. And if they do that it won’t be alone. It’ll be accompanied by one of the previous two possibilities or most likely all together. 🙂

All question will be answered in just 6 days time…

And speaking of the original cast here’s the latest Harrison Ford interview, dodging Episode 7 questions. I really start to feel sorry for him. He just wants to promote his latest movie and they keep bringing him back to Star Wars.

I agree for the most part but if you look at that teaser for ROTS there’s a lot of footage. I thought filming didint start until after the new year. SW + JJ Abrams equals a super short teaser. Think of his other films and how little footage we saw in those teasers.

Agree. I meant only the first part of the ROTS teaser.

Probably one good indication and big question we need to ask ourselves about The Big Three’s Mark and Carrie is: ” Are they still showing up at cons to speak and do signings anymore, or have they vanished to do their ‘weight loss/training’ programs for the films”? I think that is something we should all turn our eye to and could probably tell us what they’re involvement may be.

It’s not like they have to quit everything to get in shape, even though they’re both quite out of it.

The RotS trailer just brings back all the pain. How awesome it could have been… sigh. Must look to the future!

I have to agree about Harrison Ford. I think this is why he pretty much said he’d never do it again (ages ago) so he could avoid the rabid side of the fanbase. Just look at what happens when he get’s remotely close to SW again.

I think it’ll be like the Rebels trailer which is a bit disappointing but something is still better than nothing. If the Mark Hamil thing proves true… that’d be way better than I was expecting.

I hope it’s not a ponsy trailer. I hope it’s an actual interesting video that gives us information. Like when John Williams was announced as the composer and then a 4 or 5 minute video was released with him. Nothing majorly exciting in the video, but I loved that. Much more interesting. Why not just have a 5 minute video or so with Mark, Carrie, and Harrison chit-chatting about their involvement in new films. But instead as they’ve been releasing teasers for the past 3 weeks, I fear they will release some stupid 20 second thing that’s all secretive and mysterious and doesn’t actually give any information..

I know…I would be so disappointed if they did that!

    Cool clip with Harrison Ford.
If he wasn’t going to be in the movie then he would just say so, wouldn’t he?
    And he hasn’t said NO…
So, he’s obviously in the new Star Wars.

My problem is why weren’t the trailers for 1-3 shown?

Because as I have said before lol. The prequel movies are 20 years BBY they have almost no relevance 20 years after ROTJ. Basically this new trilogy has more to do with the older movies then the new ones. Also I think everyone knows how much most hard core fans disliked the prequels. So it seems that Disney is trying to distance themselves from episodes 1 trough 3

me too. i thought Attack of the Clones had too much fake CGI with the storm troopers all being fake which sucked ass. Too much love drama with Anakin and Padme ( we all got the point FUCK !!! )… every dam scence was was shot with a big ass green wall. Lucas was just plain lazy directing those part 1,2 and 3 ( at least 1 had real life backgrounds )…. the script for part 1 took only 2 weeks and thats no good.

Wow so many so called Star Wars fans just dis the PT….There is NO way Lucas couldn’t please EVERY fan….when Ep. 1 plot leaks made it out in 1998 we all jumped at the ideas. Disney is NOT going to distance themselves from a $4 billion product that they just bought….besides….Disney loves Eps. 1-3.
