Daniel Logan Could Be Hinting at Larger Role in ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Flashbacks

Daniel Logan is causing speculation to spread like wildfire with recent comments after the latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett.

The actor, who of course played a young Boba Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, has technically already appeared in The Book of Boba Fett via some very brief flashback sequences as Boba dreams of Kamino and the day that his father Jango died on Geonosis. So far, we’ve seen Daniel Logan’s face in reflections in the window on Kamino (twice) and in the visor of Jango’s helmet.

All three of those appearances would have been recreated by CGI, but Logan himself has been credited for the cameo in each episode’s end credits. However, a recent comment by Logan himself teased that something more might be on the horizon.

When replying to a comment from a fan on Instagram rueing the fact that he wasn’t cast as an older Boba Fett, Logan replied saying “give it a chance you never know who might show up”.

Now this should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Logan could just be having a bit of fun while stoking excitement for the series. However, it’s tempting to wonder if he might be fanning the flames for a reason. While The Book of Boba Fett‘s flashbacks have mostly focused on his time with the Tusken Raiders after escaping the Sarlacc, Temuera Morrison has said before that the show will explore what’s happened to Fett since The Empire Strikes Back. Now, it’s possible that Morrison was simply referring to the setting shown in flashbacks so far, as they are technically set after The Empire Strikes Back. But he could be suggesting the flashbacks won’t be limited to a post-Return of the Jedi setting.

If this is the case, and given the advancements in de-aging technology used in both The Mandalorian and Rogue One, it’s easy to imagine a flashback scene with young Boba Fett using old footage of Daniel Logan. This technology could even be used on both Logan and Morrison, allowing the elder actor to reprise his original character Jango Fett interacting with Logan’s Boba.

This could work thematically with the series, as we see Boba still dreams about the death of his father, as it proved a formative experience in his life. It could be nice to see him interact with Jango once more as he reckons with the man he was, versus the man he is trying to be in the show’s present-day storyline.

Alternatively, Logan may be teasing an appearance as Boba Fett in his 20s or 30s, back in his prime bounty hunting days. The actor did voice a young Boba in The Clone Wars animated series, but seeing as George Lucas himself went out of his way to make sure adult Boba Fett had Temuera Morrison’s voice in the original trilogy, it seems unlikely that they’d use Daniel Logan’s voice to play adult Boba. It could risk confusing general audiences, and is unlikely to happen.

Again, it could be that Daniel Logan is just having a bit of fun and there’s nothing behind his comments. But considering the cast and crew have often teased some pretty big moments to come, it’s hard not to speculate whether this is an indicator of what is to come in The Book of Boba Fett.
