New ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Chapter 2 Preview Shows Boba Fett Meeting the Mayor
Ming-Na Wen is everywhere promoting The Book of Boba Fett, with her latest appearance being in a Verizon ad, in which she introduced an exclusive clip from the second episode of the new Star Wars live-action series. The fresh 25-second clip teases the first confrontation between Boba Fett and the mayor of Mos Espa, whose majordomo we met in Chapter 1.
In addition to that, Ming-Na also said the following about the new series:
“The Book of Boba Fett is going to be amazing for the fans. They are going to see a side of the Star Wars universe that we have never really explored. New characters, ships, and epic adventures. And the effects and artistry that has gone into every scene is beyond anything I’ve ever worked on before.”
The new clip (which is a trimmed version of the full scene we’ll get to see Wednesday morning) starts at 4:05, as the first four minutes are a scripted ad for Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband. Check it out here (we have the video set to the moment the clip starts):
Even from this short clip, we can already feel the tension between the mayor and Boba Fett, with the former offering the new crime lord some advice: “running a family is more complicated than bounty hunting.” The concept of the family is yet another subtle reference to The Godfather made in the show. This scene will undoubtedly be even better once we see it in context, but it already promises to be a game-changer for the plot of the series.
