Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae Clash in New Clip of ‘The Acolyte’

The Acolyte promo continues to roll on with a clip of another extremely cool fight sequence, this time between Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) and Mae (Amandla Stenberg) released by IGN. Once again, it showcases a more defensive fighting style from the Jedi as was displayed between Mae and Master Indara (Carrie-Ann Moss) in previous trailers and clips. Check out this latest clip below:

In the clip, Master Sol says “You attack me without a weapon? Why?” Only to reveal later that Mae was carrying knives, which he expertly removed from her person. We also see Mae reach out for Master Sol’s lightsaber at one point, insinuating that she must not have her own. The mystery deepens!

As a reminder, the synopsis for the show on Starwars.com reads:

An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…

The clip appears to show the first meeting between our respected Jedi Master, Master Sol, and the dangerous warrior from his past, Mae. However, we’ve been assured that we’ve only been given the tip of the iceberg in terms of narrative so it’s possible this clip is just another misleading teaser. Rumors continue to swirl regarding Mae’s character and her motivations.

If you’re looking for more clips and teasers from The Acolyte, be sure not to miss this recent teaser, showing Vernestra Rwoh’s lightwhip, Wookiee Jedi Master Kelnacca, and more.

The Acolyte premieres on Disney Plus with two episodes June 4.
