New ‘The High Republic’ Phase III Covers Put the Nameless in a Terrifying Light

The covers for two upcoming High Republic books have been revealed. Phase III of the publishing initiative is soon heading into its second wave of novels, with Tessa Gratton’s Temptation of the Force kicking it off on June 11. Following that is the wave of young adult and middle-grade novels, which tease heavy involvement from the Jedi’s greatest fear: the Nameless. And now that the covers confirm as much, prepare to explain to your kids why their favorite Jedi is now dust.

Beware the Nameless by Zoraida Córdova hits shelves on August 27. The middle-grade adventure will follow up on the events of Escape from Valo. Check out the cover, with art by Peter Antonsson, and the previously-revealed synopsis below:

The High Republic continues in this fast-paced adventure that picks up from Escape from Valo, perfect for fans of sci-fi action. Think Sailor Moon meets Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting by way of Star Wars . . . with a dash of Last Kids on Earth!

This next installment in the New York Times best-selling series is written by award-winning author Zoraida Córdova and features six full-color pages of art!

It is a dark and dangerous time for the galaxy, and the Jedi of the High Republic must face their greatest trials yet. Over a year has passed since the destruction of the Starlight Beacon space station, and hopeful Jedi-in-training—including Tep Tep and Kildo from Escape from Valo—must work with Ram Jamoram and a few new friends to overcome their fears . . . and stop the monsters that threaten the very existence of the Jedi. Even the most reluctant readers won’t be able to put this down!

Córdova’s previous High Republic work includes Phase II’s Convergence. Beware the Nameless is available for pre-order now.

After Beware the Nameless, George Mann returns to the plate to take his next swing after last year’s The Eye of Darkness. The young adult novel Tears of the Nameless drops on September 24. It will follow the events of Defy the Storm and a subplot in The Eye of Darkness. Azlin Rell, a fallen Jedi who survived an encounter with the Force-eating beasts, might be the Order’s only hope to defeat them. Below, you’ll find the cover, with art by Corey Brickley, and the synopsis:

The New York Times best-selling series continues in this heart-wrenching sequel to Defy the Storm where fans will reunite with fan-favorite Jedi Knight Reath Silas.

Written by the author of The High Republic: Eye of Darkness, The High Republic: Quest for the Hidden City, Dark Legends, and Myths & Fables, this next High Republic installment is perfect for fans of investigative mysteries, mythology, monster-hunting, and apocalyptic sci-fi.

It’s been over a year since the fall of the Starlight Beacon space station, and both heroes and villains alike must face the consequences of their decisions. When Jedi Knight Reath and Padawan Amadeo Azzazzo are sent on a mission to test their theories about the Nameless, they’ll come face-to-face with the terrifying creatures once thought to be myth—and learn the true meaning of fear . . . fear that fallen Jedi Azlin Rell advised them to embrace if they have any hope of defeating the monsters . . .
