Katee Sackhoff Bets on an Ahsoka and Bo-Katan Reunion, Discusses Bo-Katan’s Possible Outlook on Sabine, Thrawn, and More

More information continues to trickle out from Katee Sackhoff’s exclusive interview with The Direct, and while there’s nothing groundbreaking, Sackhoff does emphasize some personal confidence in a live-action reunion with Ahsoka. Despite the fact that it was Bo-Katan who facilitated the introduction of Ahsoka into live-action in The Mandalorian season 2, we’ve never actually seen the two characters on screen together in live-action. In fact, the last time we saw them together was in The Clone Wars season 7, Ahsoka loading Maul onto her Venator and heading straight into Order 66. However, they have presumably kept in touch given that Bo-Katan knew Ahsoka was on Corvus during The Mandalorian. When asked if she thought the characters would reunite in live-action, Sackhoff responded:

“Yeah. I mean, I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t at some point. But, you know, again, I have no idea. You know, I have absolutely no idea. They don’t tell me anything until I show up at work with my script in hand.”

Given how much history the two characters have, I can’t help but agree with her. And who knows, this reunion may not happen until Filoni’s New Republic Era film, but I think we can feel certain it will happen (despite Sackhoff’s enthusiastic attempts at hedging her answer.) And speaking of reunions, she was also asked how she thought Bo-Katan would feel about Sabine becoming a Jedi. Sackhoff commented:

“… I think that Bo has always worked side by side with the Jedi and the Mandalorian people. And I think that she sees the benefit of the two groups working together. And I think that she would, she would probably think nothing of it other than, ‘Wow, that’s pretty wonderful. Good for you.’”

I’m not convinced that Sackhoff is fully channeling the opinion of Bo-Katan here. The Kryze Clan have a rather loaded history with the Jedi that is ultimately net positive, but still…there’s plenty of water under the bridge. I believe that Bo-Katan has undergone a lot of character development trending towards tolerance in the past few years, and yet it might still make for an eyebrows-raised reaction upon hearing Sabine’s news.

Bo Katan

Finally, when asked about how she envisions Bo-Katan being of use against Thrawn, Sackhoff answered:

“Well, you know, I think that the Mandalorian people have a lot of rebuilding to do. But I think that the Mandalorians have always been a phenomenal military asset. So, you know, I don’t know. She’s always been incredibly strategic and methodical. So I think that those skills could be useful. But you never know.”

Useful, indeed! Color me gobsmacked if we don’t see Bo-Katan in a critical role in the fight against Thrawn. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a reverse of what we saw in the The Clone Wars season 7 with Ahsoka coming to Bo-Katan for aid. Moreover, Sabine still needs closure after the sacking of Mandalore and what she views as a failure on her part to support her people, and I bet Bo-Katan will be involved in that healing process, as well. For now, we’ll have to wait and see. The Mandalorian season 4 production is just kicking into gear again post-strike and season 2 of Ahsoka hasn’t even officially been greenlit yet.
