‘Ahsoka’ One Week Away, Three New Spots Revealed

With only one week away, Lucasfilm is making one final marketing push with three new short spots for Ahsoka. While there isn’t much in the way of new footage, they do feature more of Rosario Dawson’s thoughts on the character and help illustrate more of the relationship between Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren.

The first spot, titled “A Hero’s Journey,” highlights lead actress Rosario Dawson and her sentiment toward Ahsoka Tano. In a particularly poignant moment, Dawson shares how when she first saw her debut in The Mandalorian with her mother watching, her mother turned to her with tears on her face. She also states that “it’s my honor to play Ahsoka” and that “Ahsoka is truly one of a kind.”

In the second new spot, titled “Get Ready,” two dialogue exchanges are heard. First, Ahsoka says, “When the stakes are this high, it takes a master and an apprentice to defeat our enemy.” It should be noted that when Ahsoka says “master,” it displays Ahsoka. Then when she says “apprentice,” it shows Sabine, again highlighting the dynamic between the two characters. The second dialogue exchange is between Hera and Ahsoka. Hera asks, “What makes someone ready?” possibly referring to Sabine. Ahsoka then replies, “You just know.”

Finally, on the official Star Wars Twitter account, a new 20-second short clip was shared with the caption, “In one week a new Jedi rises.” It features more of the high-octane action that the studio has been touting. The brief snippets remix some of the same clips of the battles with villain Baylan Skoll and the Inquisitor named Marrok. But it also shows a brief look at Sabine battling Baylan’s apprentice Shin Hati with her Mandalorian gear, including the classic rope bracelet to bind an enemy.

Star Wars News Net will continue covering more of Ahsoka in the coming weeks. But for now, feel free to check out our series of articles titled “Countdown to Ahsoka” to get caught up on the character’s entire history leading up to this point.

Ahsoka premieres on August 23 with two episodes streaming on Disney Plus.
