Four New Book Covers Revealed For ‘Star Wars: The Essential Legends Collection’ Wave 8

Four new book covers have been revealed as part of Star Wars: The Essential Legends Collection Wave 8. The wave consists of the following titles: The Old Republic: AnnihilationRepublic Commando: True Colors, The Courtship of Princess Leia, and I, Jedi.

Of the four books soon to release in October, The Courtship of Princess Leia is one that fans may want to take note of. The book first introduced the Witches of Dathomir before they were brought into official canon in The Clone Wars animated TV show.

The Twitter account @swbooks was the first one to spot the four covers on Amazon. They have been provided down below alongside each book’s official synopsis. First, we have Star Wars: True Colors, the third book in the Republic Commando series:

The third installment of the epic series featuring the brave warriors of Omega Squad—an elite team of clone commandos—fighting to protect the Galactic Republic.

As the savage Clone Wars rage unchecked, the Republic’s deadliest warriors face the grim truth that the Separatists aren’t their only enemy—or even their worst.

In the Grand Army’s desperate fight to crush the Separatists, the secret special ops missions of its elite clone warriors have never been more critical . . . or more dangerous. A growing menace threatens Republic victory, and the members of Omega Squad make a shocking discovery that shakes their very loyalty.

As the lines continue to blur between friend and enemy, citizens—from civilians and sergeants to Jedi and generals—find themselves up against a new foe: the doubt in their own hearts and minds. The truth is a fragile, shifting illusion—and only the approaching inferno will reveal both sides’ true colors.

Also coming to the eighth wave of the Essential Legends Collection is Michael A. Stackpole’s I, Jedi:

Essential Legends Collection: I, Jedi

The dramatic story of an X-wing pilot on the razor’s edge between the hero he once was and the power he could have—if he’s willing to embrace the Dark Side.

Corran Horn was an officer in the Corellian Security Force before casting his lot with the New Republic. As the grandson of a legendary Jedi hero, he has latent Force powers that have yet to be developed. But he has managed to distinguish himself with Rogue Squadron, the X-wing fighter force that has become the scourge of the Empire and of the pirates that prey on Republic shipping.

When his wife, Mirax, vanishes on a covert mission for the New Republic, Corran vows to find her. He begins Jedi training at Luke Skywalker’s Jedi academy, hoping to develop his untapped powers. But as Corran grows dissatisfied with the Jedi master’s methods, he chooses to break with the academy before his training is finished.

Now Corran is on his own. Using his undercover experience, he must infiltrate, sabotage, and destroy a ruthless organization in order to find his wife. But to succeed, Corran will have to come to terms with his Jedi heritage—and make a terrible choice: surrender to the Dark Side . . . or die.

Next up, the Drew Karpyshyn-written Annihilation, set during the Old Republic:

Essential Legends Collection: Annihilation

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Join Republic spy Theron Shan as he faces off against the Sith Empire itself in this epic installment of The Old Republic.

Light side, dark side—these are just empty words. . . . There are only two sides I care about: us and them. Republic or Empire!

The Sith Empire is in flux. The Emperor is missing, presumed dead, and an ambitious Sith lord’s attempt to seize the throne has ended fatally. Still, Darth Karrid, commander of the fearsome Imperial battle cruiser Ascendant Spear, continues her relentless efforts to achieve total Sith domination of the galaxy.

But Karrid’s ruthless determination is more than matched by the steely resolve of Theron Shan, whose unfinished business with the Empire could change the course of the war for good. Though the son of a Jedi master, Theron does not wield the Force—but, like his renowned mother, he has the spirit of rebellion in his blood. As a top covert agent for the Republic, he struck a crucial blow against the Empire by exposing and destroying a Sith superweapon arsenal—which makes him the ideal operative for a daring and dangerous mission to end Ascendant Spear’s reign of terror.

Joined by hot-headed smuggler Teff’ith, with whom he has an inexplicable bond, and wise Jedi warrior Gnost-Dural, Darth Karrid’s former master, Theron must match wits and weapons with a battle-tested crew of the most cold-blooded disciples of the Dark Side. But time is running brutally short. And if they don’t seize their one chance to succeed, they will surely have countless opportunities to die.

Finally, and a key title as we alluded to in the beginning, Dave Wolverton’s The Courtship of Princess Leia:

Essential Legends Collection: The Courtship of Princess Leia

Before the marriage of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo, another suitor threatened to derail their star-crossed romance. . . .

Seeking rich, powerful allies to bring into the Rebel Alliance and a new home planet for the refugees from her native Alderaan, Princess Leia considers a proposal that could tip the balance of power against the evil Empire. The Hapes Consortium of 63 worlds is ruled by the Queen Mother, who wants Leia to marry her son, the dashing and wealthy Prince Isolder.

Han Solo has always dreamed of marrying Leia himself, and now he makes a desperate, final gamble to win her back. Tricking Leia into accompanying him, Han flees with her to the beautiful and untamed planet Dathomir, where he hopes to win her heart.

Fearing the imperious queen’s reaction to Han’s rash move, Luke Skywalker forms an unlikely alliance with Prince Isolder to track down the runaways. Soon Isolder, Luke, and Artoo will be at the center of an adventure leading to an awesome treasure, a group of Force-trained “witches,” and a showdown with an invincible foe.

Wave 9 of the Star Wars: The Essential Legends Collection will apparently include titles like X-Wing: Wraith Squadron by Aaron Allston, Republic Commando: Order 66 by Karen Traviss, and Knight Errant by John Jackson Miller. It will be out in February of next year.
