‘The Bad Batch’: Michelle Ang Shares Crew Gift, May Have Wrapped Recording for Season 3

Star Wars: The Bad Batch voice actress Michelle Ang has shared a crew gift for the show’s third and final season, indicating that she may have completed work on the series.

Michelle Ang revealed on her Instagram page, via an Instagram story, that she received a crew gift (hat tip r/StarWarsLeaks) of Hunter’s helmet suspended by a stand. Usually, such a gift signifies the end of production for the cast and crew involved, barring the possibility that some additional material may be needed to record later. In the meantime, the animators will remain hard at work on the project until the show nears its release date.

As of right now, we do not have official word that recording has ended for Ang or any of her other cast members, but any update on The Bad Batch is bound to be a welcome one.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is a spin-off of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, set in the aftermath of the titular conflict and in a period where the noble but corrupted Galactic Republic takes a hard turn into becoming an authoritarian Galactic Empire. Exploring the period immediately after the events of Revenge of the SithThe Bad Batch provides narrative emphasis on one of the groups most profoundly affected by the fall of the Republic.

As of the second season finale – SPOILER ALERT – Omega has been captured by the Empire on Mount Tantiss, an Imperial stronghold where further research on cloning seems to be the focus for the Emperor’s greater, most sinister designs – and it’s revealed that several of the scientists there are — like Omega — opposite-gender clones of Jango Fett, raising further questions about the nature of the Empire’s mission and the means to accomplish it. Crosshair is also imprisoned there due to his earlier betrayal of the Empire out of disgust for the mistreatment of clones, and the as yet unreleased Celebration trailer for the new season indicates that the two will cross paths within captivity.

The first two seasons of Star Wars: The Bad Batch are available to watch on Disney Plus right now, while the third season will be released sometime in 2024.
