Dark Horse Comics Reveals From ‘Star Wars’ Celebration

Dark Horse Comics took to the stage at Star Wars Celebration in London to reveal new looks at what is on the horizon for readers. The highlights include a heavy load of interior art, a duel between Quinlan Vos and Cad Bane, a cover for Tales from the Death Star, and a High Republic Phase 3 cover reveal.

Let’s start with that big Phase 3 reveal. Yesterday’s High Republic panel showcased the next batch of novels and merely just mentioned that the mainline comics would return. Dark Horse has now unveiled the first cover for Daniel José Older’s Phase 3 edition of The High Republic Adventures, and it features grown-up versions of Zeen and Qort. The series will relaunch in December once Phase 2 wraps.

Older also spoke on his current Phase 2 run of The High Republic Adventures. The eight-issue backstory of Sav Malagán has five issues to go, with Jedha being the big destination for the series. Issues #5 and #6 will see the return of art from Harvey Tolibao, who was the main illustrator during IDW’s The High Republic Adventures run. The remaining covers of the series were unveiled along with interiors from the fifth issue:

Staying with Adventures, Claudia Gray’s Quest of the Jedi is closer than ever to becoming a reality. Currently set for release April 26, the one-shot will take readers to the earliest point in the High Republic era. Gray describes it as “mythical” and “Arthurian”, among other things. Some interiors were shown during the panel:

Onto the next cover reveal; Cavan Scott’s Tales from the Death Star drops on September 19, and Dark Horse brought the cover and some early story details. One of the three tales will follow Grand Moff Tarkin on his last day aboard the station. Check out the cover below:

The last bit of news comes from Hyperspace Stories. Covers for future issues were shown, but one holds an extra bit of intrigue. Issue #9 sees Jedi Quinlan Vos face notorious bounty hunter Cad Bane.

No release date for the issue was given. Keep it here at Star Wars News Net for more from Celebration. Lucasfilm Publishing still has news, and Marvel will take the floor on the final day of the convention.
