‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Cinematographer David Klein Has Worked on ‘Skeleton Crew’

Cinematographer David Klein, who worked on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, has confirmed he’s part of the Skeleton Crew production team.

News regarding one of 2023’s brand-new Star Wars shows, Skeleton Crew, are scarce, but we’ve come across an interesting tidbit (hat tip @darkavm on Twitter) which had flown under most people’s radar. It appears that David Klein, who shot Robert Rodriguez’s chapter of The Mandalorian and five out of seven The Book of Boba Fett episodes, has been working on the Jon Watts-helmed series. In fact, the news came straight from his personal Instagram account back in September. Here’s a screencap of the post:

On top of that, his IMDb page also has him locked for four episodes of The Mandalorian season 3, though we’re treating this second bit as unconfirmed until we can get the same information from a more reliable source. Nonetheless, it appears that Klein is now yet another regular collaborator in Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s Star Wars projects, something that seems to be common and may be linked to the relentless production schedule that The Mandalorian and its surrounding shows are working with. It simply makes sense to have veteran crew members jumping as seamlessly as possible from one season of Star Wars television to the next.

As we wait for more official news on Skeleton Crew, it’s worth remembering that Favreau teased not long ago the series could have a crossover with The Mandalorian and maybe even Ahsoka, which, looking at how things are going so far, wouldn’t come off as a surprise. Still, we barely know anything about the series’ plot at this point, so it’s far too early to speculate on how these shows could interact in the future.
