‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Unveils First Look at Jude Law at D23 Event

We learned earlier this year at Star Wars Celebration that yet another live-action series set in the beloved universe was in the works for Disney Plus. The new series, titled Skeleton Crew, is set to star Jude Law and began filming in July with a reported $136 million budget.

The series will have Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Chris Ford, and Jon Watts on board as executive producers, with Watts also directing, and will follow the adventures of a group of four lost kids as they “try to find their way home”, per Watts’ description of the story. However, aside from Jude Law’s casting, the premise, and the promise of an Amblin-esque tone similar to that of Steven Spielberg’s early films, we hadn’t gotten much official news about the series until today.

First, here’s our first official look at Jude Law in the series:

Jon Favreau discussed how his role in the recent Spider-Man films helped him bring director Jon Watts into the Star Wars universe:

Surprisingly, we didn’t learn anything new regarding the cast or the plot, but Cinelinx dropped an exclusive yesterday in regards to two members of the group of kids we’ll be following — we’re running that as a rumor for now, but it might be solid after the site nailed the casting of Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka yesterday as well.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about Skeleton Crew, but we’ll keep you updated as we find out more.
