Legendary Actor Max von Sydow Has Passed Away at 90
Swedish actor Max von Sydow has passed away at age 90.
The actor, probably best known by Star Wars fans as Lor San Tekka from The Force Awakens, had a legendary career that spanned 70 years which included two Oscar nominations and roles in films including The Seventh Seal (one of 11 collaborations he had with Ingmar Bergman), The Exorcist, Flash Gordon, Oscar nominations for Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and Pelle the Conquerer, as a Bond villain in Never Say Never Again, and as I mentioned, even a brief role in Star Wars.
Sydow is the only Swedish male actor to have been nominated for an Academy Award, and leaves behind a legacy that is hard to match. He lived a long and accomplished live that most would sign up for in a heartbeat, so while it is sad to see he has passed, it is a reminder of the mark he left on the world, entertaining the masses for seven decades.
