Here’s the issue.
Tim Burton = Nightmare Before Life Day…
I’d watch that.
Jack Wookieton?
I think I’d become a Trekkie before I watch an M. Night Shyamalan or Michael Bay Star Wars movie…
I don’t see Fincher, Lynch, Scorsese, or the Coens being interested in joining up with a franchise with such heavy supervision from the franchise ‘showrunners’. They are all accustomed to a free hand in direction, and they’re all among the best American directors of modern times, so that’s for good reason.
They’ll probably also want to keep it uniform visually; that is, hiring a director who wants to shoot on film.
Why do 4 hipsters in pit-stained tee shirts chatting up Star Wars sit at an anchor desk? It’s such a stupid trope of legacy network news media — I really don’t understand what I’m looking at. It’s fucking YouTube (aka “The Future”) — why not do something modern and new?
So a fucking squid like you has something to needlessly bitch about on the Internets.

I think Ms. KK should direct Episode IX, having never directed let’s see how that goes. That way she can have her cake and eat it too.
Maybe she can fire herself, and keep with tradition.
LoL
Very Cool. !!
Wish studios would go out on a limb and let more auteurish filmmakers try their hands at this …
would love to see the Coen Bros. direct a SW flick
