Ever since I discovered this show on starwars7news I have really been enjoying it. There aren’t many shows that would be able to go this in depth about Star Wars, particularly as regards to new Canon and even knowledge of prior Legends stories. Nice to see everything being handled so well by the show’s host Kristian, definitely the right Star Wars nerd to do the job.

I really like this show, and the guys on it but it feels like it is on its last leg. I still think you guys should discuss bringing back some of the EU and do it with open interviews with Lucas film and disney. And have fans on the show as well. Much more to discuss than just 7 and the new movies coming out.

Maybe Benicio Del Toro is playing Kylo’s older, badder brother, who seeks revenge for his younger brother’s injuries/death à la Jason Strathem, Fast and Furious 7.

Wait is Campea not there? May just watch it if he’s gone. Kristian and Mark are great but Campea makes my skin crawl.

It’s a good show but it seems like they would be struggling to keep up with what was hapening if they were not reading the pages of starwarsnewsnet.com

You’re right about Campea, he comes across as someone that LOVES the sound of his own voice. He is constantly hedging his bets when making predictions. He will do this big speel about a future theory then slaps on a disclaimer at the end which completely contradicts his first point. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure he is a lovely guy but he just comes across as a tool. Sorry.

Not sure I get that one guys reasoning of why Kanan should survive into the OT time but Ezra has to die. They ALL have to die. Period or the plot is broken. He seems to have forgotten that Yoda has shown the ability to watch Jedi from Dagobah. He watched Luke growing up, he talked to Kanan in the temple on Lothal. There’s no getting around it. When Yoda said “When gone am I, the last of the jedi will you be.” He knew from which he spoke. Revenge of the Sith also established that Yoda had been conversing with Obi-Wan from Dagobah and taught him from there how to become a force ghost and commune with Qui-Gon.

But even more then that, these characters, Kanan, Ezra and Ashoka are now established as starting the rebelion and were known and active ten years before ANH and so Yoda and Obi-Wan SHOULD know their presence. So when Obi-Wan said ten years later in ANH, “Now the Jedi are all but extinct.” It’s clear from the whole known context that the BUT refers to just him and Yoda.

This is what sux about doing all these prequels. They introduce us to these new characters, we like them and the temptation is to forget the established story so we can make room for them to live on. But this must not be. They have to be dead before ANH. Period.

It’s another reason to stop with the prequels and filler stories and move beyond Return of the Jedi or even thousands of years into the past for an Old Republic story too. Whatever, so long as we don’t know what SHOULD be the outcome of new characters.

I’m not convinced that the crew of the Ghost all die, as that would be a big ask for a Disney show. Everyone seems to talk about them having to be dead to not mess with Canon, but the stories are based on a GALAXY far, far away, and galaxies are big. Personally, I think the Rebellion would almost be not worth worrying about for the Empire if they were throwing absolutely everything they had at the first Death Star. It would be very easy to establish parallel stories that were away from the main action and not have clashes…

I never said they would die, only that they should based on what we are told and shown in the movies and even Rebels it self and I think I laid it out on the table pretty well why that is the case above.

Yoda and obi wan both new that Luke was not so hot on the idea of killing his father. Maybe yoda told a lie to give Luke extra motivation. Basically saying “Either you do this or nobody does.”. Maybe when Obi wan says “you are our only hope”, he means not that Luke is the only one left, but that Luke was the only one with the capability to defeat Vader. I know it would be yoda sound dark and cruel, but it was a desperate time for the Jedi

Maybe Ezra pulls a Anakin and turns to the dark side. And maybe this caused Kanan to have to kill him and it is so damaging to Kanan that he lets go of all the ideals of the Jedi…again. Or maybe, Ezra kills Kanan and at the point of ROTJ Ezra is an inquisitor and is working on the other side of the galaxy.
Maybe Yoda sent Ezra mission that was away from all that was happening. There are a million ways that they could write around what Yoda said.

Though, I do think it was a mistake to have Yoda communicate with Kanan and Ezra. It does make things more difficult.

I don’t think it was a mistake at all. It was just keeping in continuity with the films.

Yes they could write around it, but there is no way they could do it and not take away from the drama and importance of Luke’s story and I care about Luke’s journey being protected more then any of these new additional characters.

I believe, that on hs best day, Darth Vader is the most powerful jedi/sith in the cannon, and Luke defeated him. I would say that his importance is set in stone. So what if there were a few other jedi stationed thoughout the galaxy? Again, it is possible he was their “only hope”, because he was the only one with the capability. It is like a shootout in hockey. Yeah, you may have other shooters to go to, but, you want to send your best out on the ice.

“Strong in the force I am, but not that strong”. Clearly Yoda was saying that he does not have the power to cheat death. However, it also shows that Yoda makes mistakes. He is not God. He was not able to sense that Palpatine was a Sith lord. It could be argued that he he made a mistake in letting Anakin into the Jedi order. So why isn’t it possible that a few Jedi slipped through his grasp.
Now, if it turns out there were something like 10 jedi around the galaxy, it seems hard to believe but, 2 or 3 jedi is not that big of a deal.

Ahsoka is actually not a jedi so they can easily work around that one.
