Today the guys talk about the Star Wars Comic Con panel, behind the scene featurette and whether or not Colin Trevorrow would be a good fit to helm Episode 9. I used to follow Kristian Harloff on twitter for a while because he actually knows what he is talking about when it comes to Star Wars but soon learned his really insufferable in almost every other aspect, especially on Parascope. That app is literally the downfall of civilization.

at the rate we’re receiving news about practical effects, I”m expecting to see an anthology film about Baba Joe.

If that damned puppet appears again at D23 I think I’m going to light it on fire.

Any news on TFA? C’mon man, I’m dying over here for more TFA-related news. Stupid JJ and LFL/Disney and their over-the-top and ridiculous (yes, it’s gotten to that point right about now) sense of secrecy. The general public needs something of substance story-wise about this movies (i.e. opening crawl, synopsis, etc) besides hearing all this talk about practical effects ad nauseum (which has been beaten to death already; the general public couldn’t care less what effects are being used as long as the movie looks good and the story is good.

Its frustrating I know, but it will be amazing to be suprised in dec, we know bits but not alot, also the practical effects thing has been rammed home alot but atleast JJ is doing all he can to produce a quality film close to what started it all, the PT is ok, I accept it and tolorate it but it was too shiny and the cgi takes all the heart out, some is ok but the PT was too much.

I was thinking about 1980’s ESB Practical Effects with the Snowspeeders, X-Wings, AT-AT walkers, asteroid mine-field, Bespin cloud city scenes and robotics! I know the younger generation missed it but George Lucas still owns Industrial Light and Magic for that next super high quality movie experience that would be too jerky in movements!

SPOILER TO TFA (from what you’ve seen and have not put together): BEWARE! DON’T READ AND BLAME ME IF YOU WANT TO SEE SURPRISE TWIST!
Luke Skywalker “practical effects scene” in Yoda’s training cave of ESB gave the J.J. Abrams clue that Luke Skywalker is the new Darth or Kylo Ren and Adam Driver is his apprentice (whose sister is Rey) but it will be Luke as new Darth Plagius? WHAT DO YOU THINK!?

Good stuff again this week. Love the Schmoes and all that they do. Never really been a fan of John Campea though. Dude is way too negative on just about every topic that gets discussed. Its Star Wars man, have some fun! Wish they could bring back Maude or get someone who isn’t such a drag to listen to week after week.

Campea is horrible and he was gone for a little bit so I started watching it again. Now he’s back I refuse to watch anything he is associated with. That whole transition from AMC to Collider was a joke on the fans. They should have been honest with people instead of Came a saying an incident occurred and he can not be apart of AMC anymore. But their still a sponser of Collider soooooo? Last show of AMC they were a bunch of goofball and said they were taking rest of week off for 4th of July holiday. They come back week later with everything painted green. Seriously.

I love Jedi Council and really value the opinions ( mostly ) on these three council members. Guest star-wise I wonder it would be possible to invite Hello Greedo, or some other big SW youtubers onto the show for an episode or two.
Spin off-wise, I’m not really feeling a lot of these new SW comics, I suspect the stories may be insubstantial and that it probably takes only 5minutes to get through an issue.
I much preferred the old Marvel Star Wars comics.

Random theory that just popped into my head: I’m thinking about what causes Kylo Ren to go masked… what if Luke or some other Jedi force pulls a flame trooper’s gun to crisp up Ren’s face?

    • July 18, 2015 at 9:10 am
      Permalink

Nah, it’s a good theory but the whole thing about a force-sensative-guy-getting-crispy-by-fire sounds a whole lot like Anakin on Mustafar… And remember, Lucasfilm is allergic to the prequels, remember?

I like the idea of Ahsoka turning to the Dark Side after all she’s been through. It would makes Luke’s resistance of it all the more heroic in the end.

I’ll bet that Stormtrooper escorting Poe to jail is really Daniel Craig (who’s 5-10 and stocky) and that’s why they showed that scene.
It would be just like JJ to have his little in-joke!

How could anyone think Colin trevorrow would be a good choice. Jurassic World made alotta money, yes. But so did transformers 4. That movie proved he would do everything wrong with Star Wars. He’s not a guy to take on a franchise. Boring and hacky choice. I don’t believe it anyway.

You guys are one of the reasons spoilers are always leaked. Why must webhave this impatient, millennial, adhd impatience on everything. Spoilers ruin everything, and take the surprise out of the story. With the prequels I didn’t care.cause I knew where this.was all going. Anie becomes vader, everything else was just there. But this is an original story, that we’ve been waiting for 30 years to get. Why ruin it.

I hated when Chris Hardwick said “I watched this last night and I cried”, right before they played the BTS reel. He set everybody’s expectations up too high. He put too much pressure on all of us to cry. And everyone who didn’t cry felt like an a**hole. Thanks Chris for ruining it. Don’t give us your opinion until AFTER we see it, dude. This ain’t Talking Dead where everybody’s already seen it, bro. Nobody wants to hear how you feel BEFORE we see it. You spoiled it, you ruined it. That’s always gonna stay in the back of my mind.

P.S. I don’t give a crap if Daniel Craig was in the movie or not! Stop it!
