That sabine picture is SOOOOO fake. I would VERY MUCH doubt that anyone from Rebels would appear in Rogue One. At most, you’d get a voice-over cameo, maybe Kanan’s voice over a comlink during a battle or something. I doubt you will SEE any of them.

Unless Rebels is pinned down to 3 seasons, I don’t think we will see any of the Ghost crew in Rogue One. Reason being, Rogue One takes place more than likely immediately before ANH. Giving us a story that involves those characters takes away a little from what the show could do in future seasons. For instance if we see Kanan right before ANH, we can assume that he survives the events in the show through to the conclusion of the series.

However, I guess it is possible to make the final season(s) of Rebels overlap with the OT giving the Rebels characters opportunity to make an appearance in the ST, or make the series only 3 seasons that concludes right before the release of Rogue One and have the character arcs wrap up in that film.

There are many ways they could go, and part of me likes the idea of some of the characters living through the OT, but I think Kanan and Ezra have got to go for continuity reasons. I think it is most likely that Rebels and Rogue One will be two separate entities. I think if we see anything from Rebels in Rogue One, it will be locations like Lothal, minor characters like Commander Sato, or non-force sensitive villains like Agent Kallus.

I don’t expect to see any Rebels heroes in Rogue One, but if we do, I’m lobbying for Hera to make an appearance. FP Jr as Kanan would be cool, but I think they made it clear Jedi won’t factor in a whole lot if at all in this film. And if the Rebels characters are not cast well, it would come off as strange to the fans. I think it’s best to not include the Rebels crew.

Do you think they were told by Disney that they couldn’t discuss Nien Nunb, Ackbar and the 2 movie stills?

omg that Sabine photo is so fake. The pants and belt look way too phony and simplistic to be taken seriously in a movie. She’d be wearing more heavy duty type of stuff.

It is clearly a fake. But to be fair, many real test shoots aren’t any better early on. They sometimes throw together something quick to film just so they can see how certain colors will come out on the actor and how it will look on the film they are using, or just to get a basic fitting down.

Gotta call B.S. on what John Rocha said about modern audiences being more “advanced” in our desire for complex characters. Star Wars was a reaction to the bleak, morally gray films of the 70’s. Just give Zardoz a gander.
Star Wars was meant to be a more straight forward good vs evil story. That doesn’t mean you can’t have complexity or gray characters (I think Lucas might have even said that was the approach to the Sequels at some point), but it hasn’t to do with audiences being somehow more sophisticated.
Not to mention Vader turning from the ultimate villain into the tragic hero of the Saga. That’s pretty gray to me.

Personally I hope it has both. Grey can coexist next to the ideals of black and white. Of course this could get tricky, but Star Wars needs to stick to the strong distinction between good and evil, dark and light, on some level.
