I’m reading Darth Plagueis now. I never knew a Muun could rock so hard.

Great episode once again. I agree completely with Campea on the canon/comics issue.

At some point everything will become too convoluted again. Best just to maintain the movies/clone wars and certain of the books as canon.

The comics are fun to read, but I don’t want the film makers or novel writers to be shackled by what happen in Issue such-and-such of a Star Wars comic ( and I say that has a HUGE comics fan also ).

Keep the canon “clean”, and let everything else be gravy.

Regarding Force Ghosts – I would love, love LOVE to have Ewan MAgGregor cameo as a Force Ghost somewhere in the new trilogy of movies – who’s to say ghosts can’t change their appearance to suit the expectations of the person they are communicating with?

I would see it more likely that they make Ewan look older and more like Sir Alec Guinness. The changes in his appearance from Episode 1 to 3 supposed to appear like steps in the progression from his appearance in 1 to how Obi-Wan looked in 4.

I’m fully with Maude – the lightsaber is ICONIC!
All the messing around with multiple variants diminishes it’s status. The reason Kylo Ren’s crossguard is awesome, is that it’s so badass different from the ‘normal’ lightsaber. And if there is too many types of lightsaber, then Ren’s is ‘just another’ saber.

The movie have only shown us two variations in lightsaber type so far ( three when TFA comes out ). I don’t include different handle designs like curved, etc.

It needn’t be a worry unless they start incorporating too many wacky designs into the movies, which I don’t think they will.

I agree with Maude, and would like to take it even further by saying that the lightsaber has already been diminished as a special weapon through their uses in the PT and Clone Wars cartoon. Before the PT, I always interpreted that only Jedi used lightsabers (not the Sith), and Vader only used one because he was a fallen Jedi (yet the reasons remained a bit mysterious). You could tell that even the Emperor detested lightsabers during his conversation with Luke. He delivers his line of the lightsaber being “the weapon of the Jedi” in total disgust. Furthermore, he did not use a lightsaber during his confrontation with Luke. I always thought it was because he didn’t want to have anything to do with the Jedi or their ways. Again, the mystery to me was always why did the Emperor allow Vader to use one, and it kept lightsabers unique and esoteric.

I understand that they wanted to have epic lightsaber duels in the prequel trilogy, and that’s why we see them so much in the PT, but I think that they could have still taken it in a different direction.
