SW7N Review: Marvel’s Princess Leia #2

Princess Leia #2Issue two of Marvel’s comic book series Princess Leia is out now. Check out our review after the jump.

Excerpt from the review:

This series is killing it! In a good way. The series writer, Mark Waid, is taking Leia through a maze of events that tell us where her future is heading as well as the past she is haunted by. I’m so impressed by the build up of this story, and it is only the second book.

Princess Leia #2

We last saw Leia after her less than amicable separation from the Rebel Alliance, jumping into hyperspace on her way to Naboo. When we rejoin her in this issue, we learn her motives for traveling to Naboo are to round up and protect a commune of Alderaan artists and musicians that have established themselves there.

This series is a snooze-fest. Thank God there are only two more issues, right? Please tell me there are only two more!

If you don’t like it then don’t read it. Your condescending comments are unwanted.

Isn’t this a place for opinions and comments. I want to enjoy this series, but I think it falls short of expectations.

Ha! that comic book Leia is overly-sexualized. Is that comic book 101, that all female characters have to have playboy model proportions?

Very true! But at least they’re fully clothed, unlike sex slave Leia and bare midriff Padme. -_-

You should see Terry Dodson’s cover art for X-Men. In fact he oversexualizes every female X-character he draws for the variant covers. It started in good taste and now is out of control. Notice the similarity in Leia and female X-wing pilot’s eyes. The faces of his women are all the same character.

This continues to be my favorite one of the three current series. Very good storyline.
