UPDATE! Clear Your Browser’s Cache

If you think the site is not updating normally and stays on an early date like November 28 or December 1, then try clearing your browser’s cache (Ctrl+shift+delete).

We found an error on our cache plug-in and fixed it. Still if you had trouble before we suggest for a final cache clear.

Those who don’t already know won’t be reading this.

    • December 6, 2014 at 10:32 pm

People are visiting the site from multiple places – home, work, phone. They have the issue only on one of those and they can see this from the other. 🙂

Maybe a good chance to adress my problem commenting on your page when using my mobile phone. Yes I’m currently the pc, 95% of the time I’m on the phone.
So what’s the problem, it started after the website has been updated maybe 5 months ago?
Ok, when I try to write a comment on my phone the text-box is just slightly larger than the screen. Text will go out of the screen but still writing. When the box reaches the bottom part it constantly tries to re-focus the text part, but the same time it skips to a portion above.
In this state I can’t see the text. So I try to relocate the cursor to the end, the cursor will skip to a portion 2-3 lines above. I must move the cursor with my finger and if I can’t locate the proper location withing 1s it will skip back to a few lines before. So this is really, really annoying because it forces me to write blindly and/or relocate the cursor to correct a typo = I must relocate the exact spot within a second or the cursor will skip back.
Really annoying and no idea what’s causing this nor what could possibly fix it. But I can’t be the only one!

      You’re not alone.

  • December 6, 2014 at 11:14 pm

You should try QUICK CACHE PRO for WordPress it’s much better than W3 Total Cache. Anytime you or an admin/author etc makes a change it will flush the cached sections of the site automatically.

    • December 7, 2014 at 7:35 am

Plus. W3 Total Cache is run by some of the most arrogant people. Webmaster – whatever you do, do not pay W3 Edge for support… total rip-off and horrible customer service.

  • December 6, 2014 at 11:37 pm

I mostly have this problem on iPhone and iPad and it only started in the past week.

    • December 6, 2014 at 11:48 pm

The problem with not refreshing or the issues while commenting?

      • December 7, 2014 at 1:12 am

I have exactly the same thing as IGphone88
I either go through twitter, or now hit refresh button.
Viral this started happening after say 3 articles that were posted since the trailer, release.
I do not feel it at our end causing this.
I also feel that the number of responses has dropped off, which who is to say from article from article. But I would assume you have lost a few viewers unintended due to this glitch.
My cache is fine and my browser. Unless this is a google/andriod thing when we were updated.
Hope you figure it out. I’ll just refreash the tab.

        • December 7, 2014 at 1:14 am

Also I’m noticing that I can’t edit my comment, the edit counter is gone.

          • December 7, 2014 at 1:16 am

Weird, last post I made did not have counter but now its there.

          • December 7, 2014 at 10:37 am

You can edit your comment only for 10 minutes after you made the post. After that you can’t

          • December 8, 2014 at 9:24 am

I’ve had the edit option either disappear or not show long before the 10 minutes has elapsed.
In one case, my comment didn’t show. So I rewrote and posted it again.
and it showed up right under my first attempt!

So, Viral, that’s why I commented ‘brilliant’ twice. You can remove the first ‘brilliant’ if you want, but i can’t recall which article.

        • December 7, 2014 at 10:41 am

The number of visits hasn’t dropped one bit. This is a strange issue that only a dozen of people have. We’re trying to figure it out, because everyone is important. 🙂

        • December 7, 2014 at 3:57 pm

I think you’ll probably find that you’ve actually lost a lot of commenters here since you opened The Cantina. Personally, I don’t tend to post here anywhere near as often as I used to since visiting the forums.

  • December 7, 2014 at 12:03 am

With not refreshing. I find that I have to hit refresh, then stop the refresh in the middle of it, then hit refresh again.

  • December 7, 2014 at 12:20 am

Dont use cache plugins, do it via htacces.

  • December 7, 2014 at 1:08 am

Thanks! I was wandering why there´s no news after December 1., and today I checked this site autside home and realized there are new posts, so I came here now with IE and it showd what to do…now I´m back on Firefox and everythigs works as usual..

  • December 7, 2014 at 2:26 am

Why not just forget computers ‘n’ junk. Just type up a daily newsletter and mail a copy to every single one of us. Agreed? Come on! You know you want to!

  • December 7, 2014 at 2:31 am

The Problem with the refresh, for me anyway, is only specific to this site. None of the other sites I visit on a daily basis have this problem. Also, I am noticing that even after clearing my cache, and cookies etc, the problem still persists. I have even noticed on separate visits that sometimes the top story is different each time, sometimes a older story, sometimes a newer story…

  • December 7, 2014 at 3:57 am

My R2 unit keeps playing holograms of Jabba’s slave girl doing a pole dance. It’s not a problem but it keeps turning my light sabre on..?

  • December 7, 2014 at 5:45 am

Please get this site working properly because my man isn’t able to satisfy me any longer and I need something to do.

    • December 9, 2014 at 5:18 am

      LOLOLOL!!!! AWESOME!!!

  • December 7, 2014 at 6:00 am

For Apple, it’s COMAND SHIFT R. Funny you guys posted to do this because I was having that problem too of seeing the same 11/30 post for the last few days until i noticed it was different on my other computer. haha

  • December 7, 2014 at 6:53 am

not too many new stories around these parts lately… all the other star wars sites have loads of stuff… you guys feelin xmas lazy??!! 😛

  • December 7, 2014 at 10:39 am

    Thanks for the news!
It has been a problem since the teaser’s day.
I was Refreshing every time i entered the site.

  • December 7, 2014 at 8:46 pm

Hi, thanks for the post. It helps, but I have to refresh every day in order to get the site’s updates. The problem started around the time the Teaser post was uploaded. Before that, it was working fine. I’m using Chrome btw.

Please try to fix it 🙁

    • December 7, 2014 at 8:48 pm

Are you using Chrome on a mobile device or on desktop?

      • December 7, 2014 at 9:42 pm

        Desktop, windows 7.

      • December 7, 2014 at 9:45 pm

Having the same problem, on my Galaxy S4 (also chrome), but I can’t even refresh my cache there.

      • December 7, 2014 at 10:07 pm

I am also using chrome on two different devices; getting same problem. Its only on this site. Windows 8 and Android.

        • December 7, 2014 at 10:22 pm

This is really weird. I’m using Windows 8 with Chrome and Android and I don’t have this problem. Can you please tell me how you cleared your cache? Forget about the refresh. If your cache is cleared then everything should be fine. Tell me exactly what you did on your browser to clear your cache.

          • December 7, 2014 at 11:53 pm

History->Clean browser data->in the clearing window: set to clear from the last day, everything is checked besides passwords and content license.

          • December 7, 2014 at 11:58 pm

Try not to use last day, but last 4 weeks.

    • December 8, 2014 at 12:43 am

Having the same problem. (west europe)
Still happens, After doing what you say this morning, now at night i have had to refresh again to see all commnets.

      • December 8, 2014 at 12:45 am

Did you clear your browser’s cache for the last 4 weeks?

        • December 8, 2014 at 12:51 am

          Yes, today and last week.
          Internet explorer.

i supouse all of you have “IT” friends 😉
But i will ask a friend of mine who really knows about computers, cause i still have problems.
If i have something new i’ll tell you

  • December 8, 2014 at 3:16 am

I cleared my cache. Still having the same problem. Obviously some coding was changed on the site sometime around November 28 – Dec 1 which makes it not auto-refresh on some browsers (Internet Explorer for sure). This is a website DESIGN problem. Not a USER problem. FIX IT PLEASE.

    • December 8, 2014 at 5:53 pm

From one Anonymous to another: I don’t have that problem on my computer, so it sounds like the problem is on your computer. It’s not the fault of the website designer. They have a great website.

  • December 8, 2014 at 8:36 am

Viral and co. It doesn’t affect the work you’re doing with the side, news, posts, etc.
    Keep going!
If i have to do i will refresh the site every day 😀

  • December 8, 2014 at 10:10 am

It’s not very good is it, the template I mean. The content is great. It looks like something from 10 years ago and it’s not mobile responsive. Is it a Blogger template?
I can convert it for you guys free of charge and fix the loading issue. Let me know.

  • December 8, 2014 at 4:40 pm

Viral Hide, sry m8 but it’s just not working.
I’v tried to clear the cache from the last 4 weeks as you suggested and i’m still having the same problem. Like, I did it yesterday and waited untill you guys will upload a new content. Opened the site today and all I saw was the this post about the problem, and it didn’t even load the new comments. I had to clear my chache again (this time, from the lsat day) to see the new post (about GL and the teaser..) and the new comments for this post…

(Just reminding you – we’re talking about Chrome on Windows 7, my Galaxy s 4 suffers from the same problem only on this site).

Thanks for the help anyway, I really hope that you guys still trying to fix it.

    • December 8, 2014 at 5:43 pm

BTW we made something today. Have you cleared your cache today or yesterday?

      • December 8, 2014 at 9:41 pm

As I said, my browser is Chrome. I’v cleared my cache yesterday (from the last 4 weeks as you suggested) and when I tried to open the site today I still had the same problem (not seeing new comments, not seeing new posts…)

Since I couldn’t see any new posts ( like the GL teaser one, or your new comments on this post) I had to clear it again today, about 5-7 hours ago (this time i’v set it to clear “from the last day”)

Gonna leave it like that untill tommorow, i’ll keep you updated if my problem solved.

        • December 8, 2014 at 11:36 pm

As I said we did something today, so better clear your cache today too.

  • December 8, 2014 at 8:56 pm

Yes – I have been showing the same news story on your site since about the time of the trailer release. I have to refresh everytime I come to the site in order to see new news. For the first week, I thought you were taking a break or something. This does not happen on any other site. This happens to me on Windows 7 / Chrome. Good luck getting it fixed. We love the site! Keep up the great work.

    • December 8, 2014 at 11:39 pm

Have you cleared your cache from the last 2 weeks?

  • December 9, 2014 at 5:28 am

Hey Viral, thought i’d chime in; This seemed to start when the article about Oscar Isaac popped up for me. I read the article then refreshed after going to the home screen and the site had reverted back to the previous villan article as the headliner….like the Isaacs article had never existed. It went back and forth like that for me for almost two days. I’ve got windows 7 with Chrome (home and work)and was getting the same results from three different computers at two locations. FYI. Seems fine now tho…

  • December 9, 2014 at 6:36 pm

Viral, I’m still having the problem. Chrome user, both on phone and Windows 7, cleared my cache both yesterday and today (set it to clear from the last 4 weeks) and it’s not helping.

In other words, in order to see the updates on this (and only this) site I have to clear my cache each time i enter…and it worked just fine untill the teaser post.

  • December 11, 2014 at 3:08 am

Yeah, I’m still having it, too. Since the trailer was put up… I can clear the cache which will fix it, or click on the “2014” link to see new posts, but it’s annoying as I have to do this every time I visit the site, which is many times a day =)… Just figured I’d let you know. It seems to be a widespread problem that more than just a handful of people are having…
