Phineas and Ferb

Phineas, Ferb and the gang are about to meet Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2, and other iconic Star Wars characters in the adventure and action-filled television special, Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars, which is set to air Saturday, July 26 from 9:00-10:00pm ET/PT on Disney Channel…

From IGN:

Beginning, Saturday, July 19, verified users on WATCH Disney Channel will be treated to a first look at Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars. It will also be presented during a night of Star Wars-themed programming, Monday, August 4th at 7:30pm ET/PT on Disney XD,

Plus, Star Wars fans should note that the special will be followed by an extended Star Wars Rebels trailer.

Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars is set in a parallel universe, during the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Phineas and Ferb are living just one moisture farm over from Luke Skywalker on the planet of Tatooine when R2-D2 and the Death Star plans inadvertently fall into their speeder. With the fate of the galaxy thrust upon their shoulders, they hire pilot Isabella, Han Solo’s rival, to help them return the plans to the Rebel Alliance. Complicating matters, low-ranking Stormtrooper Candace is intent on busting the Rebels and chases them across the galaxy in hopes of retrieving the Death Star plans.

The voice cast is: Vincent Martella as Phineas; Ashley Tisdale as Stormtrooper Candace; Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Ferb; Caroline Rhea as mom Linda Flynn-Fletcher; Richard O’Brien as dad Lawrence Fletcher; Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Rebelpus; Alyson Stoner as pilot Isabella; Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Major Hologram; Dan Povenmire as Darthenshmirtz; Tyler Mann as Carl2-D2; John Viener as Norm-3PO; Maulik Pancholy as Stormtrooper Baljeet; and Bobby Gaylor as Stormtrooper Buford.

Featured are: Simon Pegg as C-3PO and Candace’s Commanding Officer, and “MythBusters” hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman as members of the Empire.

In exclusive shots from “Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars,”  (via AccessHollywood) the actor’s character is seen as Candace’s Commanding Officer in the story is set a couple summers ago, with Phineas, Ferb and the gang are in a parallel universe set during “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.”

What’s so lame about introducing Star Wars to younger generations? This is a great way to do it. It’s a kids show or crying out loud.

Is the first thing Anthony Daniels hasn’t done 3POs voice in?

Isabella? That’s the best name you can come up with? It looks fun though.

It doesn’t seem right that the first official disney Star Wars product is…. A parody. It just doesn’t seem right.

Technically, the iOS titles came first – one of which was an accurate retelling of The Phantom Menace, with the promise of five more retellings on the way.

Just think Muppet babies started all this character/brand swapping. How many times now? Family Guy, Angry Bird’s, Lego’s etc. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
If they have trouble choosing what to slap star wars on next, they can at least call Gene Simmons, he could help them with the cross merchandising aspect. Let the money machine roll!!!

Hey Viral Hide, the comment section is starting to become a hostile environment and sometimes a little bit out of control. Just wanted to say that.

I’ve noticed a lot of pointless grumpiness around here, too. Maybe the quietness of the production of Episode VII has invited a bit of discontent?

I think I would have said this in a thread with massive debates on gender balance, PT vs OT arguments that get out of hand etc. This one is rather tame 🙂

Mainly just the guys who start name calling. That’s where you’ve gone to far. Just disagree and bring up your points etc.

As for this cross over it’s the first time I’ve not liked Disney’s decision. Just doesn’t seem like the right thing to do first with the license. Just an opinion. Either way I can ignore it so it’s not that big of a deal.

You call this hostile? LOL, seriously? What about that thread on women with nearly 400 comments?

Or maybe that people can be anonymous instead of actually listing their names. People can be real assholes over the Internet when no one knows who they are.

On the plus side, at least people are much more likely to be honest here. It’s refreshing to see how ugly we really are instead of the PC people society forces upon us.

Not that the ugliness is a good thing, but it’s an opportunity to see what’s real.

Though I can’t say I care for this, I do hope Matt Sloan, who they hired to voice Darth Vader in this, is still used in several other of Disney’s projects. He was awesome in both of The Force Unleashed games.

I used to like Phineas and Ferb a lot. It was a great cartoon show. Haven’t watched it recently so I don’t know if the quality has dipped but I’ll give this a shot! Looks fun. Some fans need to lighten up.
I’m really looking forward to Rebels, though I haven’t seen TCW and don’t particularly wish to.

i liked the idea of “just ignore it”…i don’t understand why more people don’t take this attitude:if something isn’t for you, don’t watch it! my Grandchildren watch this show, so this is going to be a great crossover for them, which is what it is all about! i am excited about this and cannot wait to see it with my Grandkids!
